One of the most remarkable features of Tapestry Hall is its breathtaking permanent art installation created by internationally acclaimed architect Philip Beesley. Suspended throughout the space, this immersive piece of “living architecture” responds to movement and light, creating a dynamic atmosphere unlike anything else in Ontario. Inspired by the ecology and movement of the nearby Grand River, the installation weaves art, nature, and technology together while providing a stunning visual backdrop for ceremonies, speeches, and dancing late into the night.
Beyond its architectural beauty, Tapestry Hall is designed with celebrations in mind. The venue features built in lighting, a professional sound system, and a large video wall that can be incorporated into the event experience. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Couples who incorporate something deeply personal, like handwritten notes for each guest or a family recipe on the menu. It always adds warmth and authenticity to the celebration.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our most iconic photo location is beneath the grand limestone archway under Meander, the illuminated art installation that creates a stunning backdrop day or night.
Couples also love capturing moments outdoors in Gaslight Square, surrounded by the District’s historic brickwork, cobblestone paths, and romantic string lighting. The riverfront walkway adds a softer, more natural touch, while the balcony overlooking the Grand Hall offers a private, cinematic angle for first looks or evening portraits.

We’ve been lucky to welcome a few well-known faces through our doors who’ve celebrated or performed at Tapestry Hall. While we always protect our clients’ privacy, we can say that every guest, famous or not, gets the same red-carpet experience here.
What’s your favourite canapé?
There are too many to count! We have a canape list you can select from and they are absolutely delicious.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Definitely our pizza. There’s something about that fresh-from-the-oven slice at midnight that brings everyone back to life on the dance floor. Add an espresso martini or two, and the party magically finds a second wind.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
At the heart of Tapestry Hall is Meander, a breathtaking, 20-foot illuminated art installation that seems to dance above the room.
