A tranquil retreat just outside Buckingham, Winters Tale Country Barn is a historic wedding venue set in the rolling countryside of North Buckinghamshire. Licensed for civil ceremonies, this serene setting offers a choice of picturesque locations and stylish rustic features. Tucked away in the grounds of a 17th-century farmhouse, you can enjoy a down-to-earth celebration with just the right amount of grandeur.
Winters Tale Country Barn is steeped in beauty, from the surrounding country gardens to the plush interiors of the main setting. The Secret Gardens beckons photographers from the moment of arrival, with its water feature and whimsical swing. Swept up by vibrant blooms, this is the ideal space for an outdoor session or perhaps an open-air romantic ceremony. Of course, the barn site is the jewel of the venue, boasting vaulted ceilings and dark wooden features that stay true to its centuries-old roots. In this bright, open space, up to 120 guests can enjoy a wedding breakfast before being joined by an additional 80 for a reception under twinkling fairy lights. On the ground floor, a well-stocked bar will keep the guests lively and happy, while the cocktail bar on the gallery invites you to relax in the nearby cosy snug. The large silk-lined marquee adjacent to the barn is a surprisingly sophisticated space with chandeliers and festoon lighting. This light-filled blank canvas makes for a wonderful additional space for drinks, dining, or late-evening entertainment. Close by, you will find a choice of two premier accommodations, including the Ember Eve Barn. This delightfully vintage suite is perfect for the wedding night with its four-poster bed, Victorian slipper bath and private balcony.

The communication and support of the wedding coordinators and all the staff was faultless. They went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. I never had to worry about a thing on the day. The weather was miserable, but I barely remember that, instead I remember how much my cheeks ached from smiling. We are so grateful and can’t thank you all enough. We knew from our 1st visit that Winter’s tale was the venue for our reception. The fact that we (our toddler and my new in-laws) could stay in their cottages based literally a stone’s throw away, was a win for us, but it wasn’t just that, the fact that there was a quiet snug for those needing a break away was amazing, the 2 bars (one serving delicious cocktails) was perfect for the amount of guests we invited and the staff were so friendly, the spacious area for eating, drinking and dancing along with the marquee was everything we had in mind for our perfect day. I would recommend this venue to anyone as they embark on the monumentally huge task of wedding planning. Searching for the right venue is hard and can often put pressure on the happiest of couples, but we had no arguments, we knew this place was the one from the moment we parked up (they have lots of parking by the way). We would recommend the complete wedding package they offer too, worth every penny, and again, takes the weight of trying to liaise with multiple suppliers for decorations, photobooths, garden games etc. Thanks again ladies and gents. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond for us, they were extremely communicative throughout the entire wedding process and made us feel extremely comfortable. The area itself is picturesque for all wedding photos, with our guests commenting how lovely the exterior was. The interior is also extremely pretty, and when the white trees are used as a backdrop it looks even nicer. I would 10/10 recommend this place to any potential wedding couples, or as a venue only for events, it is definitely worth it and the pictures will come out amazing.Me and my wife had a lovely time here with our Wedding. Our guests loved the venue and there was plenty of space to park, and move around. The cocktail bar in the evening is another great addition. I would like to say from myself an on behalf of my wife the biggest thank you to the team at Winters Tale as we could not fault a single thing about the venue and was so impressed with the organisation of the day and so grateful for all the hard work the team put in to make our day so special! Without doubt one of the best Barn wedding venues and a hidden gem in Buckinghamshire that is a must have venue for future weddings! The location, scenery and landscape really merged together to add a special element to our beautiful day. The wedding team were absolutely fantastic very helpful from Day 1 to the Big day. Had everything under control so your day is stress free and full of smiles and laughter. The view from your balcony in the wedding suite is breathtaking and also the barn itself is by far a brilliantly constructed piece of art plenty of light and makes photography shots look epic. We were buzzing with this venue if you want a nice feel good classy yet rustic vibe. All in all the venue is such a beautiful place the barn gives such good vibes it really capsulated how we wanted our wedding vision and brought it to reality. The vast variety of vendor’s recommended through the venue were very good really impressed with them all. Cute 5 star accommodation, plenty of parking which is useful, the grounds are kept pristine and the architecture of the barn is magnificent. Christine and the wedding team really have got something to be proud of Winters tale Country Barn is a special place and will be in mine and my wife’s hearts. The staff were fantastic from the first look right the way through to the day we got married, nothing was too much trouble and having done all the decorations ourselves they allowed us to do pretty much anything we wanted. All our guessed were amazed by the venue and shocked with how it was so far away from the road and beautiful and stunning it was.
