- EEllie Pawsey21/07/2025Ellie and Alex 2025Ellie and Alex 2025There are simply no words to describe how grateful, happy and truly blessed we feel to have had the wedding we did; the best day of our lives, made possible by Jack Moorhouse and team at Winchester Cathedral Venue Events. From the meetings, constant emails/communication, to physically being there on the day, everything we could ever need or dream of and more was satisfied and then some. Our entire wedding party commented how truly amazing everything was and again, we cannot thank you enough. It is the most beautiful space, incredible facilities like the bar, kitchen, air conditioning, screens, surround sound system, hearing loop facility, beautiful walled garden with the incredible view of the cathedral, disabled access, and so much more. We will be forever grateful and can not recommend this venue for other couples enough. Jack was there from start to finish, being a constant reassuring voice, so assertive yet easy going and attentive. The attention to detail was emasculate and just so personable and easy to get along with. We wish we could re live the day all over again! Jack was super helpful and communicative in the lead up to the wedding and very patient answering all our emails and questions! He also did an amazing job on the day, ensuring everything went smoothly and he went above and beyond to make the day special. We had so many lovely comments from the guests about how stunning the venue was. The catering was also excellent and all the staff on the day were so attentive and friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend the venue and we are so pleased we chose it!We had our wedding reception at the Pavilion in May. The venue is absolutely beautiful. From help with decision making on which chapels would suit our numbers best to make sure our wedding party and guests were catered for and everything in between Jack and the team at the Cathedral worked effectively to ensure the day ran smoothly. I would strongly recommend that you consider Winchester Cathedral for your wedding and the newly built Garden Pavilion is top tier for the a lovely spring/summer wedding/reception with open lawns spaces, beautiful views of the Cathedral and indoor seating area for your meal and of course you can’t forget about space to dance and have some drinks in the evening with an indoor bar as well. The staff during the run up to the wedding were always so helpful and friendly likewise with staff on and after the big day, helping to set up and pack away as much as possible to make the experience relaxing. Also, if you want to include different types of cuisine within your wedding breakfast don’t be afraid to make the request as the chefs are able to provide dishes that are fitting for the momentous occasion. From the venue to the staff to the service provided, Winchester Cathedral will allow you to live the dream of having your special day just the way you want it. From our very first enquiry, the team could not have been more helpful, making time at short notice to show us round, and being patient with us as it took time to finalise the date. Jack was both laid back and super-organised - we felt in safe hands throughout and had a wonderful day. Nothing was too much for Jack and he made us feel at ease throughout the months leading up to it. We had no wedding stress, we thought it was too good to be true! Our wedding day then came and we were blown away. It was everything we dreamed of. Jack was there on the day to make sure everything went as planned and our guest were full of compliments on how attentive he and the rest of the staff were. The food was incredible too. We couldn’t fault anything. We booked the Wessex for the day which is a stunning building with peaceful surroundings right near the cathedral and the refectory in the evening which its perfect if you are looking for a venue after a relaxed ceremony at the registry office. The Wessex can also be used for an evening venue until 11pm with a bar which is perfect. We are already thinking about what other event we could host here! Thank you again Jack!
