White Syke Fields is a super cool distinctive independent wedding venue - facilitating your dreams! We encourage creativity, quirkiness and big ideas in our barns. 15 minutes from York City Centre, WSF is a fusion of urban and rural for the ultimate barn wedding location. You and your guests will have exclusive use of our venue, lake, grounds and we guarantee that the only people wandering around and partying. We don’t tie you to suppliers so pick whoever suits your vibe, however we do know lots of awesome people at hand if you do need some pointers. Our incredible Wedding coordinator Steph is on hand to help and support you ever step of the way, taking the pressure off you and making your dream wedding happen. Whether you’re outside in the sunshine or inside the barn, we have two bars to serve up beers, bubbles or fierce cocktails. We are Licensed for civil weddings & wedding receptions, so you can get married in either barn, or outside on the grass paddock by the lake surrounded by trees. The Piggery barn is our slightly smaller space, perfect for your ceremony and can seat up to 180. You can also have smaller wedding receptions in here too. It is light and airy with wonderful wooden beams and huge a wooden door for your big entrance down the aisle. The Wheelhouse is our biggest barn seating 200 comfortably, it has all the original, rustic farm features intact, including industrial girders, concrete floors and exposed brickwork. Essentially it is an industrial chic blank canvas for you to dress and make your own. At White Syke Fields we are a photographers dream with back drops a plenty - beautiful ancient woodland, a fresh water lake and arable fields, Industrial barns and two super cool painted wall backdrops.

My family moved to our beautiful farm 6 years ago and since moving have been working like little beavers to transform our empty barns into a funky and fabulous wedding venue with the personal touch. We have put our heart and soul into it and it’s mega, if we do say so ourselves. We have strived to create an environmentally conscious venue, reusing and repurposing things from around the farm, making it totally unique and not like any other wedding venue in the country.

Every wedding we host is a unique experience and includes exclusive three day use of the venue.
Our season runs from March - October and to make your day unique we don't cram weddings in each week, so with finite availability our spaces get booked up pretty quick! You will get full exclusive use hire of the venue which includes: Two barns, one for the ceremony ‘The Piggery ‘and one for the epic reception ‘ The Wheelhouse’. The Roost which hosts our outside bar and Courtyard are perfect for a drinks reception, with a super cool covered area filled with chesterfield sofas a log burners. You also have the beautiful large grassed paddock leading to our lake, surrounded by old oak trees for stunning photographs. The whole venue is surrounded by 200 acres of family farm, with wildflower meadow views from the barns. We also have ancient woodlands here for some more incredible backdrops.

Access to Steph our experienced wedding coordinator for pre wedding help, supplier recommendation and full on the day coordination,
Indoor and Outdoor bars,
1 indoor heater in each barn,
Indoor and outdoor feature lighting,
Rustic wooden tables & chairs,
Car parking for oodles of cars,
Outdoor log burner and basket of smokeless logs,

You'll get access across three days:
From 12 - 6pm
- set up the day before the wedding
From 9am until midnight

When we visited White Syke Fields we knew it was the venue for us (and it was the first venue we visited.) The grounds are stunning and Charlotte was so accommodating to us, even allowing us to meet the little lambs, Dottie and Tiger! A highlight of our wedding day for sure! Steph, our amazing coordinator went above and beyond to support us in the wedding planning process. She was there every step of the way to make our wedding come to life. She was always at the end of an email, helping us along the way. Her work on the wedding day was unbelievable, letting our photographer know when the sun was just right at golden hour and taking some videos of some moments of the day which was so special. We could go on and on, but those are just a couple examples of her incredible attention to detail. You’re a star Steph, thank you for all your hard work, it’s so appreciated! Everything was perfect. You looked after us and our guests so well. As soon as we visited WSF we knew immediately it was the venue for us. We cancelled every other viewing after that Both barns and all the outside spaces are stunning The blank canvas and “do what you want” attitude you have was exactly what we were looking for. Seriously what other venue could we have driven a mini inside for our grand entrance?!Our wedding was a total dream from start to finish. Everything was perfect. - MMatt11/06/2024Great venue!Great venue!A great Wedding venue. I went here for the evening reception, and there was a ceilidh. There was a bar by the dance floor and a street food outside. I would definitely book this venue for a big event, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces, with comfy seating and a great atmosphere. A great Wedding venue. Steph their in-house event coordinator was very organised and made sure the day ran smoothly. It's the most perfect 'us' venue imaginable and we relished the opportunity to make it our own, really going to town with our DIY props to create our mad, bold vision. A blank slate that allows you the flexibility to do what suits you. It has so much character and there’s SO much space that we hired a bunch of games too. Charlotte and Steph have thought of everything. Our guests were in total awe of the place. The bar staff are also the loveliest.White Syke Fields is beautiful. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Guests arriving with homemade Pom poms that they had made from wool in their wedding invites. Each one was pinned strung together to create an archway which the couple then got married underneath…arrrr

Unique, quirky, flexible, fun, relaxed
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In front of our cool pink stripy wall, or the heart wall… Oh, or by the lake under the huge weeping willow tree, or inside the industrial potato shed…too many to chooooose from.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We’ve had a few serious celebs, Mel B, John Cleese, Liz Hurley, Caroline Quentin, Kelsey Grammer aka Frazier to name but a few!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Something spicy with a nip of lime, take us to Mexico with a cheeky mini taco. Oh and a margarita to wash it down of course.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We put on banging hot sausage rolls late night on request which are of the charts delicious.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Just too many to answer, we are not like the rest, just come and see us and you will get it.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are a family business and strive to give every wedding the utmost personal touch with our small but perfectly formed incredible team. We love what we do and you will get showered in it if you get married with us.
