Whinstone View is located in Great Ayton, surrounded by North Yorkshire countryside and with Roseberry Topping as a backdrop it's a fabulous location all year round. Wray's Barn is a rustic, yet elegant barn which will be the hub for your special day. The spacious barn benefits from bifold doors looking out onto the stunning grounds, which creates a light and airy feel. The barn has beautiful features such as wooden beams and exposed brick to give it that rich, rustic feel. The barn can hold up to 150 guests and we can also tailor the barn to suit smaller, more cosy weddings. The barn also features an external veranda, which is perfect for guests to enjoy sitting outside during warmer weather, but as part of the veranda is sheltered you can even enjoy the outside space in colder weather. We also have a private courtyard which is only accessed through the barn, which creates even more space and intrigue. We pride ourselves on the standard of wedding food we offer at WhinstoneVieww. We have a vast array of packages and food options to suit your style, taste and budget! From traditional wedding breakfasts to afternoon tea, and from hog roasts to quirky fish & chip vans! Extra options are available such as tipis, lawn games ,and more! Our wedding brochure provides you with plenty of options and ideas for your big day.

It gave the warmest, romantic feeling. From the 2 years of planning to us arriving the day before our wedding, the whole team went above and beyond in making our day truly the best day of our lives. Our wedding guests still talk about their gigantic trio of desserts and the delicious supper bowls! Lucy and Jessie, you girls are simply the best!Whinstone was the first venue we went to view and as soon as we met with the team and walked in the barn, we knew that it was the venue for us. She was back over to the lodges on the morning of the wedding to keep us up to date with how things were running and showed me some photographs of the barn (which put me at ease - Lucy and Jess had managed to pull all of our ideas together to make the barn look exceptional). The whole day went so smoothly and we had the most fantastic day! I would recommend Whinstone View as a venue to anybody! They were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our day was everything we ever wanted. Everyone said how beautiful the venue is and the food was out of this world! Dawn and the team couldn't do enough and the whole day ran so smoothly. All of our family and friends loved the day and complimented the venue, food and drinks. The team are so professional, knowledgeable and friendly - Dawn is an absolute star! We had SO many questions but we were never made to feel like we were too much trouble. Dawn was so patient and such a calming presence on the actual morning of the wedding. We didn't need to worry about a thing - it went perfectly. The years of putting on the weddings of people's dreams is clear to see. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful the barn was - we didn't need to add much to bring to life the woodland wedding we pictured, it's a really stunning venue with gorgeous grounds for pictures. Couldn't have asked for better and would recommend this venue to anyone - thank you Whinstone View! - LLaura & Sarah03/11/2022OUTSTANDING!OUTSTANDING!When you go looking at wedding venues, you know it's the one when you can't find fault with ANYTHING. The staff at Whinstone View were warm and inviting and went above and beyond anything we could have ever imagined. We thought we were a problem couple, referring to ourselves as Dawn's favorite pain in the a***s but we were never made to feel that way. We were constantly throwing new and unique ideas at them but Dawn would respond, "Well we've never done it that way, we will see what we can do," and they always managed to turn our ideas into a reality. Plans A, B and C were in place for our day then covid struck. On the run up, we were making constant adjustments to try and keep our wedding date but unfortunately we couldn't go ahead when Boris shut the country down 25 days before our wedding day. The venue however saw us through two postponements, with no extra charges, which we are so thankful for. Two years later, our wedding day FINALLY arrived and it was literally THE BEST DAY EVER! We had plans A to D, weather dependant, in place. Baring in mind plan D was thrown at Dawn the night before our wedding! On our wedding morning, Dawn gleefully informed us that plan D was a go! We were thrilled. It all turned out way better than we could have imagined. I know Charlie and Toby played a huge part in the day aswell as Dawn. Not just in the organisation of the day but with their calming presence and attention to detail. Charlie would not leave our donut tower until it was perfectly stacked and Toby literally rung the bottom of my wedding dress out with his hands. I know there will have been alot more people involved behind the scenes so thank you to all. Our ceremony set up was stunning. It was the first time they had set it up the way they did and said we had made them rethink how they do weddings in future. All the staff loved the set up and it worked fabulously. The wedding breakfast was set up beautifully and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Of course we didn't want the standard table set up so we had created our own which they then executed. They willingly catered with complex dietary requirements and the food itself was delicious. We were so involved on the day we didn't get chance to really enjoy all the food so we will be returning at some point to sit, relax and enjoy it properly. The fish and chips portions were huge and we are still receiving complements from guests on how lovely everything was. Some guests have said they've never been to a wedding like it before and it being the best wedding they've attended. This wouldn't have been the case without the team at Whinstone View. We wanted a private first dance and they made that happen. Sweeping a speaker into the courtyard and closing it off to guests so that we could enjoy our moment with just our photographer. The team were so fantastic, very accommodating and helped us create a wedding bespoke to us. The day ran seamlessly and nothing was ever too much. They made our visions a reality. Our day was a dream come true and then some, we couldn't recommend them more! - CChris & Steph01/11/2022Perfect Barn Venue!Perfect Barn Venue!Got married here in June 2022 and to say it was the perfect day would be an understatement!! The venue and grounds are beautiful, the staff are so attentive and the food is AMAZING! To top it off, if you get married here there are no other weddings taking place at the same time which is a huge bonus compared to lots of venues. The lodges are brilliant and all have hot tubs, we can't wait to go back to celebrate our anniversary at the bistro and enjoy more of the delicious food!!Got married here in June 2022 and to say it was the perfect day would be an understatement!! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
My favourite wedding was large in numbers with a bridal party of around 20 guests walking down the aisle. It was fun, lively and such a good atmosphere. Live music during the ceremony, day and night made for a perfect day in the sunshine and a perfect party come the evening. It was actually booked 3 months before the wedding date, so just goes to show what can be done, even in a short space of time!
