The bar is the perfect place to relax with your favourite people around the events of the big day and come the evening the atmosphere of the glamorous ballroom will be sure to get the party started. When it comes to the end of the day this English country house has 35 unique and stylish bedrooms to make your guests feel extra special, ensuring the perfect end to a perfect day. The Priory is glorious in every season ,whether you are working with autumnal colours; delightful blue skies of a British summer or the magic brought to the Priory by a winter wonderland , your wedding should perfectly reflect you; make you feel joyful, relaxed, and most importantly totally yourself. Everything about the venue is so gorgeous that we didn’t need to over-decorate as we wanted the venue itself to shine and it truly did. From start to finish Lil and the team were incredibly helpful, professional and attentive, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. On the day they felt more like part of the wedding party than just the venue team, which made everything feel even more special. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, exactly what we wanted and so much more. We loved being able to celebrate over a full weekend and the team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly. We couldn’t recommend Thicket Priory more highly, it’s a stunning venue with a team that makes your day effortless, personal and unforgettable.Thicket Priory was the perfect venue for our wedding! Not only does Thicket Priory feel like home the second you step into its magnificent, yet cozy, interior; but the communication with staff at each stage of planning feels like getting help from a favourite family member. We have had the pleasure to initially work with Jess, and later with Anna - and both of these women are magnificent, incredible, and I’m sure yield some sort of magic which makes them superhuman. The incredible staff and the owner Bruce are what makes Thicket that extra bit special compared to other venues. Instead of hooking us in and allowing us to simply deal with all the wedding planning, Thicket was there to point us in the right direction or catch us at any moment. They are more than a venue - they are a community that their couples can lean on. A community of Yorkshire wedding industry experts who know their wedding venue inside out and can anticipate your every question. And when things get too overwhelming? Well - they are there to help you relax, give you a hug, tell you it will all be fine, and to help you find a solution - whether thats reaching out to their contacts, helping out with catering problems, or giving you a bit more time on those final payment deadlines. They are there to rejoice in your wedding day with you, and you can really feel that from the moment you book your initial visit to the checkout on Sunday ❤️ Our wedding was beautiful and we owe a lot of that to Anna and her fairies. Throughout the weekend she was there at every step - helping with set up, instructing vendors, gathering family members, putting on bouttoniers, keeping the schedule going, and so much more. We had 150 guests and she really deserves all the praise for making sure everyone was in the correct place at the correct time! Anna is a wonder and, for us, the heart of Thicket Priory. To sum it up, Thicket Priory was one of the best wedding decisions we made. We can’t recommend it enough! From the initial contact to the actual wedding, nothing was too much trouble for Becca and the whole team. The Priory is magnificent, it takes your breath away. The attention to detail was outstanding. It's a home from home for the duration of your wedding and you are not sharing it with anyone else apart from your guests. If you want a 5* wedding in a magical venue, look no further.This was the first venue we looked at and we didn't need to look elsewhere. From the initial contact to the actual wedding, nothing was too much trouble for Becca and the whole team. The Priory is magnificent, it takes your breath away. The attention to detail was outstanding. It's a home from home for the duration of your wedding and you are not sharing it with anyone else apart from your guests. She was organised, efficient and knew exactly what she was doing, but also kind, and always had a helpful word. Our wedding ran incredibly smoothly because of Anna & her trusty gong. The venue itself is just stunning... unimaginably so. In the video and pictures online you barely get a glimpse at the grandeur of the place, but it somehow manages among this to feel homely. Over the months I visited I fell in love with it more and more, and it felt so happy and normal to wander around downstairs with my slippers on the morning after my wedding. The rooms are just stunning. The bridal suite is the size of a small house, and all rooms are ensuite. There is plenty of space for your family & friends to stay. There is also the bonus of choice when it comes to wedding location within the building. All of my guests were impressed with the venue and we have nothing but good to say about it!!Thicket Priory... From the moment we got engaged and started to look at wedding venues we knew it was the one for us. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, from the beautifully decorated rooms to the quirky little touches such as the pantries and sowing rooms, it just has the most magical but homely feel. The grounds are equally as beautiful and our guests thoroughly enjoyed exploring these on the morning of the wedding. Anna and the team were another major factor in why this wedding venue is so wonderful. Anna is so warm, friendly and makes you feel totally at ease throughout the whole wedding planning process. The Thicket Priory team worked so hard throughout the whole wedding weekend and nothing was too much trouble. Our guests were blown away with Thicket Priory, and even though it is over 2 months since our wedding day, we are still receiving comments about how beautiful it was and how great all the staff were. Words cannot describe how perfect Thicket Priory is and we never wanted our wedding weekend to end!Thicket Priory was the wedding venue of our dreams!! The house and grounds are so beautiful as well as 'very grand', 'outstanding' & 'classy' (quotes from guests!). They were blown away by how amazing the house is and how it looked, especially the ballroom & morning room all decorated. The Bridal Suite itself is out of this world. All of this coupled with the expertise and help from Anna & Becca then your day will be perfect. Becca looked after us from start to finish and the day ran like clockwork. The venue, the grounds, everything about it is so lovely. Theres so many little parts to the house that make it magical, it's one of those places that you miss once you leave. We always set out with the dream of creating a weekend that people would enjoy, that we could celebrate outside with all our family and friends.... We have lots of little people within our close circle so it was important to find a venue that could accommodate them and that we could find ways of entertaining them too..... And we sure did that, the gardens were amazing, exploring the house with a scavenger hunt was fab fun....from the youngest (18months) to the oldest (97yrs old) everyone loved the different aspects of what Thicket had to offer, and we sure tried to make the most of them all. We fell in love with the place from the moment we first visited. And knew it was the venue for us. The team there are just magnificent..... Jess was nothing short of amazing....always so easy to contact, friendly and helpful. And throughout the weekend Jess was pure magic, especially with the kids who just loved her and followed her everywhere. She has particularly made a huge impact on our daughter who absolutely loves her. All the team, behind the scenes who work hard to keep the magic of the venue alive whilst you are there, are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble. Those were the words spoken to our son when we were on holiday last year and he announced that not only had she said “yes” but also that the date and venue for the big day were fixed. Sitting thousands of miles away, little could we imagine the treat that was laying in store for us. Looking at the photographs on the website whetted our appetite but it was impossible to visualise the real thing so on our return to the UK we contacted Anna and arranged to meet her one cold afternoon last September. She became the face of Thicket Priory for us. Her bright and bubbly personality with a casual, relaxed attitude but an underlying exacting eye for detail is exceptional. Having shown us the general layout, we were encouraged to wander around on our own, look into every room, and simply get lost for a couple of hours. That was when the magic set in. Each room is unique with simple but beautiful harmonious decor and furnishings. There are also little anecdotes or a synopsis of their history over the centuries. We knew that our son’s wedding was going to be a very special weekend. That weekend has just passed. Thicket Priory become “home” to our two families and their guests. From the informal meal in the Old Kitchen on Friday lunchtime through to breakfast on Sunday morning, nothing was too much trouble for Anna and her Team. We were able to chill outside in the sun on Friday afternoon, wander round the grounds and lake, and simply absorb the wonderful ambience of this lovely old building. Saturday morning was equally relaxed despite the comings and goings of hairdressers, florists, caterers, photographers and registrars alongside more guests. Even with so much activity, there remained an air of tranquility befitting our special occasion. The wedding itself was delightful. Little touches such as Anna letting our Grandson strike the gong to commence proceedings made it extra special. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire time that we spent in this stunning and lovingly restored old house. It’s a shame it all went so quickly.Thicket Priory - where’s that?
