Set within a beautifully restored former textile woollen mill, The Venue at Bowers Mill combines historic character with contemporary style. Surrounded by woodland and with a picturesque lake at the front of the mill, it offers a truly memorable setting for your wedding day.

As an exclusive-use venue, the space is entirely yours to celebrate with family and friends. With three wedding licences available, couples can choose the ceremony setting that suits them best. The impressive Bowers Room, once the mill’s carding and weaving room, can host up to 350 guests or be adapted for a more intimate celebration. The elegant Spinning Room, overlooking the rooftops of the historic mill, holds up to 120 guests. For outdoor ceremonies, couples can say “I do” beneath the lakeside pagoda.

Carefully renovated to honour the building’s heritage, the venue features stripped wooden floors, exposed brickwork, wrought iron pillars and high ceilings – creating the perfect backdrop for an industrial-chic wedding.

The surrounding woodland and lakeside views provide beautiful scenery for outdoor photographs throughout the seasons. As a family-owned venue, we pride ourselves on creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with an experienced events team on hand to help bring your plans to life.

For overnight stays, our on-site accommodation The Textile Quarter offers three stylish rooms, including a Bridal Suite, providing a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Name of Wedding Contact: Nicola Walton

The Venue is a reclaimed industrial space originally built in the 1880s. We first fell in love with the Venue when we married here ourselves, celebrating with our family and friends in 2003. In 2016 we became the proud owners of The Venue, which is set within Bowers Mill a former woolen mill. We have restored the space giving a nod to it’s original Yorkshire mill heritage. There are wonderful original features that we have kept within The Venue, including the original floor in the Spinning room.

Thank you, honestly, from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the best day of our lives! We still think it was meant to be that we got engaged on a Friday, and on the Saturday you had an open day. From the moment we met Lydia at the open day we knew nowhere else would compare to The Venue; the space was beautiful, practical and the team were instantly so attentive. The whole process was seamless, professional and having Lydia as our coordinator was the cherry on top. Thank you, honestly, from the bottom of our hearts for giving us the best day of our lives! We got married here on Saturday 23rd August 2025 and had a wedding that truly exceeded all our expectations. From the very beginning, the communication and organisation with the team were first class — nothing was ever too much trouble and every query was handled with care and professionalism. On the day itself, everything ran seamlessly, exactly as we had imagined down to the finest details. The running order went perfectly to plan, which allowed us to relax and just enjoy every moment. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue looked, how polite and attentive the staff were, and — most importantly — how absolutely delicious the food was. The food options were outstanding, and one of the highlights of the day. We decided to go for sharing boards rather than the traditional three-course meal, but we also had a taster of both during our planning. Both options were utterly delicious, and the wide variety of dishes gave us the chance to really personalise our wedding breakfast to our own tastes. Guests loved the choice and the quality was exceptional throughout. A special mention must go to our wedding coordinator Lydia, who was simply outstanding. She had everything prepared, was always on hand if needed, and kept the whole day flowing effortlessly in the background. Her calm, organised approach meant we never had to worry about a thing. If we could do it all again, we wouldn’t hesitate to choose this venue. We couldn't recommend Rebecca and the team at the Venue enough! As soon as we viewed the venue, we knew it was going to be the place for us. We were made to feel so welcome, and we really couldn't have asked for anything more during the planning process and on the big day itself. We had the most wonderful day, and we think that is a testament to Rebecca and the team for keeping it running so smoothly. We didn't have to worry about a thing and were able to just fully enjoy the day. The venue itself is so versatile; we were able to use the full room for a ceilidh, but then close it off to have a smaller dance floor for the DJ. We mixed up our table shapes to accommodate our table plan, and we have had lots of compliments on the food too! We can't even put into words how fantastic the team at Bowers Mill were in coordinating and executing our wedding. Bowers Mill was the first (and last) venue we looked at in our search for where to have our wedding. From the first glance we had at on their website, we knew that this was the perfect venue. Seeing it in-person confirmed this for us - I admit, we both teared up when we both first saw it. We had the pleasure of working with Hannah in planning our wedding. She was incredibly friendly and proactive in the planning stage, and we enjoyed meeting with her at several points in the lead-up to the big day. We discussed many adjustments that were required, such as alcohol-free, dietary requirements, and children's meals, and all of these were accommodated. After seeing the many decorations that they had to offer, our simple request was "make it pretty", which they executed to a high standard. Many guests commented how gorgeous the venue was; from the outside patio, to the spacious breakfast and reception area, to the intimate and rustic ceremony room. Not only did they ensure that the venue looked beautiful, but the day ran smoothly and without any issues. Everything ran to time and to a high quality and standard. One of our guests even had to ask if we had rehearsed the entire day with the venue since it ran so seamlessly! I'm sure that many engaged couples, when looking for their perfect wedding venue, will also be thinking about costs. Unlike other venues, there are no hidden costs. The quote we originally received in September 2023 remained the same all the way through until our wedding day. No extra costs for decorations or cutlery; what you see is what you get. We believe that we received incredible value for the money we paid! If you are thinking about booking this venue, we cannot recommend it enough! The team work so hard that you don't need to stress about the small details; you can actually enjoy your wedding day as you should. We honestly could not recommend The Venue enough! Lydia and the team are absolutely incredible! From the first moment we came to visit, to the six-month and one-month meetings, to the day itself, the team made sure they really understood our vision for the day which made everything run so smoothly. The space is perfect for both indoor and outdoor events, with a gorgeous industrial interior and incredible countryside views outside. All the food was absolutely delicious and everything can be adapted to suit dietary requirements which our guests really appreciated. The team give you the flexibility to make the space and the day your own and you really feel like everyone wants to help you have the best day possible. We got married here and wow, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Hannah and the team have been so kind and amazing from the lead up to the wedding with the meetings, all the open days & the food tastings to the day itself. The day ran so smoothly & the venue itself has received so many compliments from many of our guests. The rooms have so much character. The main thing everyone did talk about though was the food.
