Description
We are a rustic barn venue with a traditional hop hung pub and extensive country gardens. Your civil ceremony may take place in either the atmospheric, majestic barn or under our hedgerow gazebo in the garden, our ancient weeping willow forming a natural photographic backdrop.
As an independent family business we offer an individual relaxed planning process to your unique wedding, being flexible in our offerings yet taking the stress of much of the planning away from you.
Our catering is provided in house, our bars in both barn and pub fully stocked and staffed and our staff are on hand to guide you through.

We hired the whole venue to was really personal just having our close friends and family. The staff were amazing and Della and the team guided us seamlessly through the planning process. The food was delicious and we've had lots of comments to confirm that. People also said just how stunning the barn and gardens were and the kids spent hours on the slide. This was a different experience from other venue events we had visited. The staff at The Plough were welcoming, friendly, humble and made us feel very at ease. From our first initial meet at the wedding event up until the big day itself Della and Hazel were brilliant. They guided us through the process and set up our online portal which made planning a breeze. They was always happy to help and emails were quickly responded. The wedding day went so smooth, we enjoyed every bit. I want to do it all again! I can not thank The Plough and all it's staff enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives. All our guests commented on what a hidden gem the venue was and how accommodating and helpful they found the staff. Food is delicious, all our guests were over the moon with the canapés, wedding breakfast and evening platters. The venue itself ia beautiful and charming, but really, the team makes it outstanding. On the day itself, every single member of staff was so attentive and ensured everything ran perfectly. The food was absolutely outstanding, and we received so many compliments from our guests. The staff were very friendly and supportive, and made us feel relaxed and at ease throughout the big day! We dreamed of an outdoor wedding, and although on the day the weather wasn’t on our side at the very beginning of the ceremony, they provided all of our guests with umbrellas to ensure we could remain outdoors. This meant the world to us! We highly recommend this venue if you like the rustic, relaxed, family friendly vibe.From the very beginning the staff at The Plough made the planning process very simple, helped us all the way through, and made every request a reality. The staff were very friendly and supportive, and made us feel relaxed and at ease throughout the big day! The team are incredible and the day went so smoothly thanks to them. In the run up they were on hand to answer questions and made everything really easy for us. Luckily the weather was on our side so we were able to get married outside, but the team were able to switch our ceremony to inside on the day of the weather required it. It is a great venue as it offers a beautiful outdoor space to marry or if the heavens open the barn offers a characterful space for your ceremony and celebrations. And as for the chef, well the food was simply delicious and my evening request for boerewors rolls and a vegetarian Durban curry "bunny chow" ( South African inspired scrumptious food) was just perfect! We have never hosted our best wedding! We have witnessed and been part of many magical weddings and each one is so different, which is one reason we love what we do. One venue but each wedding is unique.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Visit our venue and fall in love with it. When you walk through the door, you will know that it is everything you have dreamt of.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Each couple has a different dream and no wedding is ever the same - it's what we love about our profession. Personal touches range from the cottage garden picked floral decorations to the cosy corner arranged especially for the children, magical personal vows written by the couple to the groom taking part in the band.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our willow tree is our pride and joy and the most glorious back drop to any photo but you'll find many a quirky corner within the barn and pub and depending on the time of year a field of corn in a neighbouring field.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We have hosted the royal family, in a card board cut out form and Del boy and Rodney Trotter!
What’s your favourite canapé?
The most popular and most chosen canape at The Plough is our Kentish Yorkie with sticky honey & mustard chipolata - also a signature starter on our pub menu, so always available to enjoy when you visit.
Our Cauliflower and sage bhaji being a close runner up - enjoyed by omnivores, veggie and vegan guest alike!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Pizza by the meter is our incredible new hit at The Plough - base and toppings freshly made with love and served cut into 20 slices on a meter long log slice! Perfection.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
We have a traditional hop hung pub attached to the barn and country garden serving, amongst everything else the local craft beers of Kent- what better feature could anyone have!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are incredibly proud of so many parts of our business but the outstanding stars who shine over everything are our loyal team who work so hard in providing you with the wedding you have always wished for.
