- SSarah & Richard19/11/2025The perfect reception! The perfect reception!We held our evening reception here and had a great experience. We opted for the hotel as the function suites are beautiful and did not require to be dressed, and we were given a competitive package deal. Emily was great to deal with throughout, answered any questions we had and couldn’t have been more helpful. We met with Anna a few times who was also really helpful in suggesting room layouts. We decided to opt for the finger buffet which went down a treat with the guests who all commented on the quality of the food. The only downside was the food not being able to remain out for as long as I would have liked. Colin from DJ Ash Discos, as organised by the hotel, made sure the dance floor was always busy, and despite my many requests before hand, managed to play everything I wanted and requests from my guests. Overall, we had an amazing evening reception that ran seamlessly and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel to future couples. We held our evening reception here and had a great experience. Everything we visioned was met on the day and the staff could not have been more helpful! In particular Anna as we had the most dealings with Anna to plan our full wedding day and she was just incredible - nothing was a bother! Our weekend at the hotel was so perfect! Me and my bridesmaids stayed overnight the night before and spent the morning of the wedding getting ready in the gorgeous quadriple room which has the best views of the city! We really have nothing to fault on our wedding day - everything was spot on from start to finish and we’ve had so many compliments on the bbq food - 10/10!! Me and my husband (!) stayed at the hotel on the night of our wedding and the room was amazing - so big and spacious/ luxurious! We would like to thank Anna our wedding co-ordinator, no matter small or big Anna understood what we wanted for our special day. We stayed the night before and our room was extended till 1pm so the bride and bridesmaids could be seen to for their hair and makeup. Our bridal suite was ok, had a big bed and an ensuite bathroom, this was our only downside as it didn't really look or feel like a bridal suite. All the staff we're excellent and helpful in anything we wanted or needed. The food was excellent all our guests enjoyed what they wanted from the menu. Our wedding day was absolutely amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was so well organised and we recieved so many compliments from our guests. The staff were faultless and worked to make our day as stress free as magical as possible. Anna was brilliant at keeping in touch and making sure all my requests were met. A blank canvas aloud us to create a very personal wedding and with the help of Anna the events coordinator. Our day looked completely how we wanted it. Anna and the team could not have done anymore for us and were a delight, all our guests commented on how good they were. We had a beach theme and the bbq option was everything we wanted. The food was amazing, fresh, professionally cooked and great quality. Food was refreshed and served to the guests. The rooms were fantastic for getting ready for hairdressers and make up artists. If you are looking to create your personal wedding in the heart of Edinburgh, i could not recommend anywhere better.We recently got married at the Place Hotel on the terrace.
