Welcome to The Old Regent Ballroom—where history meets romance for your perfect wedding day. Since 2011, we’ve transformed this charming former cinema into a vintage-inspired venue full of character and elegance. Fully licensed to host civil ceremonies, we’re proud to offer a unique setting that makes your celebration truly unforgettable.
Choose the Perfect Space for Your Wedding
We have two beautifully restored spaces, each with its own style and atmosphere. Whether you want an intimate ceremony or a lively party, you’ll find the ideal backdrop here.
- The Ballroom: Located upstairs, this bright and airy room is perfect for romantic weddings. The civil ceremony takes place in our enchanting “Cinderella” inspired bandstand, decorated with flowers and fairy lights. The Ballroom comfortably holds up to 180 guests and includes a dancefloor, bar, and restrooms all in one space. Please note, as a historic building, the Ballroom is upstairs and may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges.
- The Piano Bar: On the ground floor, the Piano Bar offers a stunning setting with a lively party vibe. It can host up to 240 guests for a standing event or 120 for a formal seated wedding. Its split-level layout creates natural dance and seating areas, and the space features a large bar, stage, and DJ booth. Importantly, the Piano Bar is wheelchair accessible.

We had a beautiful twilight ceremony, followed by an evening reception with buffet and would not change a thing! The venue was stunning and the staff were friendly. From the minute we walked into the venue it was clear that it was a hidden gem. The venue is beautiful, and Mandie and her team do everything to make sure that your needs are met. We had booked the ballroom which was the perfect setting for a wedding party. The food was brilliant and drinks were kept flowing. The venue looked absolutely stunning, the food was plentiful and tasty and all the staff were extremely helpful, accommodating and catered to our needs. I would highly recommend this venue and would definitely use them again. My guests absolutely loved the venue too. The most perfect day, in the best venue around!We had our wedding reception at The Old Regent Ballroom in Stanford, and my god what the best decision that was! We knew as soon as we walked in on that first viewing, we were 100% having our wedding reception there, the now wife ensured we paid the deposit before we left (She absolutely fell in love with the downstairs piano bar and cocktail bar). From first viewing and booking (1-2 years before) to stumbling out on our wedding night Mandie and team supported us and helped us through our planning all the way. The team were always on hand to answer any worries / questions via email or phone and were completely accommodating of all of our needs! Having one of the biggest wedding sit down meals and receptions at the venue that they have had, they certainly pulled out all of the stops to make it the most magical day ever! The venue itself is magnificent, so many of our guests were amazed that this beautiful venue was sitting right on our doorstep and as soon as they walked into the piano bar were amazed at the size (most comparing it to be like a Tardis). The food was amazing everyone gave compliments on how good the food was and how generous the portions were, we opted for a carvery dinner with handmade homemade pies for vegans (these were beautiful) along with gorgeous cheesecake & chocolate fudge brownie for dessert. Shaun and Frank done an amazing job with the food! Once the dinner was finished, we had the party where we had a DJ & 4-piece band both set up on the stage. The venue was big enough to keep our tables out as well as having a fully dedicated dancefloor, bar area and comfortability moving around; all in one room! The way this room flows with is sweeping tiers means no matter where your guests are they are constantly involved in the party. The bar staff were very attentive meaning no one was ever long waiting for a drink and I was kept up to date with how much was left out of the money I put behind the bar. Overall, the day went perfect and we have both said we wouldn't have done anything different; I can honestly say The Old Regent Ballroom served us well and was worth every penny! To anyone looking for a wedding reception venue we 100% recommend The Old Regent Ballroom, you will not be disappointed, not just with the venue itself, but with the amazing customer service throughout!
