The Ferry House offers bespoke and package weddings, tailored to each couple to ensure your day is exactly how you envision it. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration for 2-30 guests, a twilight ceremony, or a grand wedding for up to 350 guests, our dedicated events team is here to take a personal approach and ensure everything runs smoothly. Our venue boasts 11 4* B&B rooms, including a complimentary night in a suite of your choice on the night of your wedding. After your celebration, wake up to an award-winning local breakfast. Nearby, Mocketts Farm Cottages offer five 4* self-catering cottages, accommodating 53 guests, making it the perfect retreat for family and friends or to extend your celebration over the weekend. Our Hop Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 130 guests and seats 70 guests for your wedding breakfast. The picturesque Oak Gazebo can host outdoor ceremonies for up to 200 guests, offering a beautiful backdrop of the Swale estuary. From April 2026, couples can celebrate in our brand-new Spring Barn, which will accommodate up to 260 guests for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. Until October 2025, the Event Suite can host 180 for your wedding breakfast. For your wedding breakfast, we offer menus crafted from high-quality, local ingredients, including beef from our family farm and fresh produce from our onsite Kitchen Garden. The Ferry House restaurant holds two AA Rosettes and has been awarded Kent Dining Pub of the Year in 2014 and 2018, ensuring a delicious dining experience for you and your guests. Evening receptions offer various options. In the Hop Barn, we can host up to 100 guests. Until October 2025, couples can opt for the entire Event Suite with a private wedding bar and dance floor for up to 25o guests. From April 2026, the Spring Barn will accommodate up to 350 guests, providing a spacious and modern setting for larger celebrations.

It all went to plan seamlessly, and we know that’s thanks to all your hard work behind the scenes. Maxine, our wedding coordinator/host was absolutely amazing. Her organisation, and attention to detail made us feel so reassured every step of the way. Tarin and the rest of the team were equally fantastic — nothing was ever too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. The gardens were gorgeous and the view just beautiful. On the day itself I felt like absolute royalty, the getting ready room was beautiful, the brunch platters perfectly pitched for our party and every time I turned around with a query or holding something I didn’t know what to do with, Maxine, Chloe or one of their team was there to deal with it.We celebrated our wedding this weekend at The Ferry House and just had the most amazing day in the most spectacular surroundings. The gardens were gorgeous and the view just beautiful. The wedding team are all faultless ,they are always on hand to answer any questions , towards the final months Sam became our wedding co-ordinator and was with us on the wedding day seeing everything went smoothly. Which I can say it did , we had planned an outside wedding but due to the weather this wasn’t possible, so we had the ceremony in the barn instead. Our wedding breakfast was in the events suite and looked absolutely amazing The venue itself is picturesque and facilities are outstanding . The groom & groomsmen got ready in the garden room , myself and my bridal party got ready at mocketts cottages that also part of ferry house . We enjoyed every minute of our stay here . The food is outstanding , all the rooms that are available at the ferry house are decorated to a very high standard . Coming down for breakfast with our guests the next morning really added to our special time spent at the ferry house We absolutely had the most amazing wedding and highly recommend this venue . The Ferry House is truly one of a kind and worth every single penny!We married here in August 2024, having viewed the venue and booked our wedding in July 2022. This place is worth the waiting list and every single penny. Our wedding day here was everything we wanted and more. The Ferry House really has it all… the food is superb, most of it is grown on the premises, and the drinks are locally sourced, the cocktails are an absolute knockout! When we visited this place for a viewing we were blown away - and when our guests joined us to celebrate two years later, they were similarly blown away with how beautiful it is here and the outstanding quality of the food and the drinks. We’ve been to quite a few events at beautiful places where the catering has been a bit disappointing, but the Ferry House is so special because it has both! The grounds are stunning particularly on a beautiful English summer’s day, which we were lucky enough to have. This meant we could marry outside at the beautiful gazebo, have our photos in the secret orchard and down by the water. Our guests enjoyed the grounds all day long, especially our page boys and flower girls who played in the grounds into the evening. When the sun went down, the moon came out and shone brightly above the estuary… it was just so gorgeous and actually moved one of our guests to tears! Our evening party in the events suite was wonderful too. Karl the DJ was great and so accommodating of all of our special requests. The build your own bowl evening buffet was brilliant and guests who’d travelled a long way to join us for the evening told us how lovely it was to actually have a good meal from the restaurant evening buffet at a wedding! We had rooms in the main building included in our package and a few of our guests booked rooms at the Coach House. The rooms here are AMAZING! Our guests loved their rooms and we adored the bridal suite. The furnishings were of amazing quality especially the jacuzzi bath and the ginormous bed which was so welcoming after such whirlwind of a day. The view from our bedroom window was stunning. We woke up early to watch the sunrise and drank a coffee in bed. It was just idyllic. Breakfast the next day was also next level… so tasty. The staff also put out leftover wedding cake on the bar so guests could enjoy some the next morning and take it home with them. A lovely touch! The team here really are superb. Maxine our coordinator went over and above to accommodate all of our requests to ensure our day was perfect. Communication throughout the planning process was thorough and the tasting we had in February was a beautiful evening, we were made to feel so special by Georgina who listened to all our feedback and helped us choose our menu… we were actually struggling because everything was so delicious! That’s how good the food is here! A few weeks before our wedding, the groom’s father was very unwell and ended up in hospital, so on our wedding day he needed some extra TLC and the ferry house staff went out of their way to make sure everything was accessible for him. They were also very accommodating of our little page boy with a severe nut allergy and were so professional, ensuring that everything was safe for him so he was able to get into the celebrations and have an absolute blast! We absolutely love this place and will be coming back for our anniversary. Our guests also want to come back for their own little breaks! It is so beautiful and so special here. The Ferry House really has it all…. we’d 100% recommend them for your wedding, you will not be disappointed. Worth every single penny for memories that’ll last a lifetime. P.S The new Garden Lodge is an amazing place to get ready as a bride. This gave us the fantastic opportunity to celebrate with our family and closest friends and spread our wedding over a few days. The day before we had time to relax and settle into our 5* stunning rooms (and be pampered with a massage) in the afternoon before spending the evening eating delicious food in the barn with our guests. In the run up to the wedding, our coordinator was great. No question was too silly. She made a feel so comfortable from the beginning to the end. In fact, every member of their staff were amazing, to us, our children and all our guests. The staff at The Ferry House took the stress out of our wedding day and everything ran smoothly. The personal touches and little gestures (postcards in the rooms and signage in the barn) from the team made us feel like we were special and they just couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. We hired a band for our reception, however the Ferry House DJ was awesome too, our Garage set was out of this world and the Take That medley at the end was fantastic, especially the sneaky last song that topped the evening off - thank you. The venue has a very rustic and warm feel, inside and outside. With the backdrop of the estuary and the stunning gardens (even at the beginning of spring they were beautiful) there were so many places to go for the perfect wedding photos. Every guest commented on the food - all either grown on site or sourced locally. We can say with our hands on our hearts, that our wedding was the best day of our lives - truly magical. Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Oooo this is a hard one! We have quite a few different areas for photos. Personally I have two favorite 'must-have' photo spots and that is by the water and in our secret orchard. Photos by the water are always beautiful and always different depending on weather, timing & tide. We had the most amazing shot of a couple by the estuary between the sunset and a rainbow. LOVE! The Secret Orchard is also a must! We leave the grass and flowers wild and there are always some amazing shots in there.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Did we ever say that Jude Law stayed here not long ago whilst filming?!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Oooo has to be the mini burgers with beef from our family farm.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
It has to be our Signature wedding cake! Chocolate brownie wrapped in malted white chocolate cheesecake...
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Has to be our food ethos. We have an extensive kitchen garden where we grow 60% of the fresh produce on our wedding menu. Our beef is all reared on the neighbouring nature reserve and game is all shot on the Harty Estate. We even serve gin that is made from the grain from our farm! We also offer varied accommodation options for our couples. Included in each full day package are our 5 waterside rooms, including our Honeymoon Suite. From there is the option to add our 6 Coach House rooms, also on site. Just up the road we also have Mocketts Farm, home to 5 converted barns and farm buildings sleeping 53 guests. Meaning we can accommodate 70+ of your guests at our venue, allowing you to continue the celebrations to the following morning over breakfast.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
The part of the business we are the proudest of has to be our team! We genuinely are a Ferry House family and without everyone in every department being passionate about the part they play, we would not be able to pull off the amazing weddings that we do. Plus we have a great sense of humour...
