The Essex Golf and Country Club, situated on the outskirts of Colchester, is the perfect venue for your wedding day.
Whether you are planning your civil ceremony and intimate reception with your close friends and family or a more lavish reception, we have the perfect suite to make your day truly special.
The Mustang and Conservatory suite is perfect for your ceremony or intimate wedding breakfast. The unique suite has its own private bar, dance floor and access to a patio area for you and your guests to enjoy during your drinks reception.
The Flights Suite, which can accommodate up to 150 guests for a formal wedding breakfast followed by 250 for an evening reception, boosts views across the golf course, providing the perfect setting for the most important day in your life.
With impressive surroundings and beautiful grounds you have the perfect back drop for those most important wedding photographs.
The Essex Golf & Country Club also offers 42 en-suite bedrooms which means you and your guests can make full use of the fantastic leisure facilities.

- MMichelle & Shane08/05/2019This is the best wedding we've ever been toThis is the best wedding we've ever been toJust had my wedding here and I can't speak highly enough of just how fantastic this place is as a wedding venue. From the initial meetings with Charlotte and Michelle in the events team, you are looked after from start to finish with a personal service rather than the traditional conveyer belt style of the wedding industry. The rooms available for hire are fantastic, the flights suite in particular is plenty big enough for a fantastic party, a room we filled with a 5 piece band with full light rigging and huge dance floor with space to spare! They will literally do everything they can to make your day special, Charlotte and Sheila on the Catering Team are people who make sure your day goes without any issues. Then there's the food......forget the traditional small food portions and buffet at weddings, this place makes sure your guests are fed properly. They will be treated to brilliant portion sizes and great quality food and that's before we get on to the vast amounts of food for the evening buffet. Combine all this with the fantastic views of the golf course and a lovely bridge for those all important photos - all we heard from our guests is 'This is the best Wedding we've ever been to'. ALL of the staff involved in meeting us and working yesterday have done an absolutely amazing job. From reception staff with massive congratulations for us to Charlotte from food and beverage for running it and setting the venue up to look magical, to Peter for your absolute perfect dedication and being so accommodating and attentive to both Sherrie and myself as well as our guests, it was meticulous everything was absolutely perfect and everything we could of imagined and more. The venue is so beautiful we loved it from the minute we saw it. We were so lucky yesterday the weather was perfect the food has always been amazing and the staff are top notch. It wouldn't have been as magical without you all!!! We cannot thank you enough!!!We got married here yesterday and from our initial enquiry with Charlotte from events, to the viewing, communication and planning throughout has been exceptional.
