The staff at the Downe Arms were so attentive, from the point of booking, throughout every email, every meeting and throughout the big day itself. Not only Vicky who was our main point of contact, but every single person working on the day of our wedding went out of their way to make sure that things were running smoothly and that we were enjoying our day. Each and every guest commented on how incredible all three courses of their meal was. To serve over 60 people incredible meals for three courses is no easy task and The Downe Arms made it look so simple! Well done to an incredible team, and thank you for being so determined to ensure that our day was perfect. You all do an amazing job! The moment we arrived they saw to our every need , nothing was to much trouble . The food for the reception and evening do was outstanding and nothing was rushed . The stress and build up to there big day just melted away as all the hard work was done by the staff on the day . All I can say is a massive thank you to you all at the Downe Arms Hotel you did us and yourselves proud . The bar staff looked after us with popular beers and drinks, keeping everyone refreshed before, and for many hours after the main event. The venue is beautiful and the ceremony went without a hitch, even the weather behaved well for November and the garden provided a perfect backdrop to the photos. The kitchen staff fed us really well on Friday evening, at the reception and the evening party, and again at breakfast. It's been a long 18 month wait since our first meeting with Phil and his Team. Any questions we had were dealt with in a professional and courteous manner. I can't stress enough how nothing was too much trouble and both Phil and Danni were there every step of the way. To help with any queries. The Ceremony Room looked beautiful and the Reception Room was lovely. Every member of Staff from the Bar to the Restaurant was polite and the food service was very efficient. Phil was on hand to help his Staff with service and to see that all our guests were catered for. The Bridal Suite was tastefully decorated and the four poster bed was very comfortable. The quality of food was of the same high standard as all our previous visits. And the breakfast was delicious. My experience of the Downe Arms has been exquisite. And I wholeheartedly recommend a visit or a stay.
