We cannot thank The Bear of Rodborough enough for the wonderful day they helped us to create. In the lead up, we felt fully supported and nothing felt like too much. We really appreciated all of the attention to detail on the day which made our day run smoothly. The food was delicious; we chose afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, which was the perfect choice for a very hot summers day! We would not change a thing about our day and it just felt truly magical. If you're looking for a beautiful venue where everything can be taken care of for you, look no further!

When planning our day we wanted it to be true to us relaxed and as informal as possible. We met with Amanda and we told her what we wanted and nothing was too much .The day came as did the sunshine and Amanda and the team delivered the perfect day . Everything was exactly as we asked and all our guests were accommodated where needed . Thank you so much Amanda .

Our wedding was in early 2024. The Bear as a choice for us was fairly clear after we had seen the other venues in our price range, which while lovely, they didn't all meet major requirement which the Bear did. The venue is a beautiful hotel with amazing views over the local area of the Cotswolds. We had private rooms for our wedding and our ceremony in the Library (The fine dining resturant when in normal use). We loved that all our family had the option to stay in the venue for the night after our wedding due to the amount of rooms. There were no complaints which reached us the morning after about the rooms from family, only positives. The staff at The Bear of Rodborough were absolutely amazing! All the people working on the day from junior to senior staff showed the upmost quality of support and service. The food for the wedding breakfast was also the best wedding food we have had before and no one was left hungry or unable to eat a course due to a dietry restriction (and we had a range of allergies!). Overall, the team had so much experience not only as a hotel but a wedding venue and it showed. We could not have asked for a better organised day.

Amanda and the whole team at The Bear are just incredible. From the moment we booked up until the wedding nothing was too much of an ask. The replies were always prompt and no question was ever left unanswered. Amanda and the whole team are so friendly, welcoming and attentive. The whole day ran smoothly without any issues. We had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the hotel was, how amazing the food was and how lovely all the staff were. We honestly could not have booked a more perfect wedding venue. We will always be thankful and grateful to Amanda and the whole team for helping us achieve the most perfect wedding day.

We couldn’t have chosen a better wedding venue than The Bear of Rodborough for our wedding on 1st December, 2023. The Bear is unique. The first thing that must strike any visitor to The Bear is its extraordinarily beautiful location! The views from the hotel, with its high position within a huge expanse of rural beauty, is just breathtaking! But The Bear does not rely on its geographical location alone to make it attractive. As one enters the hotel it is immediately apparent that the interior is full of character and charm with its many intriguing nooks and crannies. The bar is well-stocked and the rooms offer comfort, convenience and variety that make this a suitable venue for those guests with mobility issues. From the first time we met with Amanda and the team we knew we had struck gold. Nothing was too much trouble and our ideas and changes-of-mind were always received with flexibility and willingness to accommodate the many personal touches that we wished to incorporate into our small family wedding. We needed to accommodate 25 guests and the Terrace Room worked perfectly for our ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening entertainment. We also had use of the Garden Room, with its cosy, blazing log fire, and the Marquee, which, when warmed with the efficient and silent heaters, offered a sizeable and comfortable space for larger groups of guests to sit and talk. The food was outstanding and this vital aspect of our day offered yet another example where the restaurant manager and the chef were wonderfully accommodating. Our guests’ dietary needs were easily met and the service, appearance and, most importantly, taste of the food were superb. If all this wasn’t enough, just across the road is a renowned ice cream factory, where the local Winstones ice cream is made, sold and delicious! Who knows…this, too, might become a feature of your wedding at The Bear!

Amanda and the team were amazing. From the moment we first met, all through the arrangements and to the wedding itself, nothing was too much trouble. We had loads of questions which were always answered quickly. We were always made to feel welcome and special. The day itself couldn’t have gone better. Amanda’s attention to detail is second to none and her team were just as good. Her calming influence was gratefully received the morning of the wedding 🤣 Thank you Amanda ☺️

We got married on 16/09/23 and it went perfectly, the staff were all great, food was absolutely perfect and all of our guests said how well looked after they felt. Amanda was also brilliant from start to finish, she replied to all of my questions very quickly right up until a few days before. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an intimate wedding in a beautiful & characteristic venue.

It was just what we wanted, a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of food! We enjoyed afternoon tea and sausage rolls and then a fantastic BBQ in the evening, all of our guests said how great it was. It was great value for money and the little details like the reception keeping me up to date with who had booked rooms for overnight stays, made it even better. Thank you so much Amanda.
