The Barn is an immaculately preserved 16th Century Grade II listed timber building and is one of the largest thatched barns in England. With its wonderful ambience, top quality service and award winning cuisine, The Barn has established itself as one of the preferred wedding venues in Essex.
We are a romantic wedding venue in a lavish country setting with flawless service where nothing is too much trouble. Delicious fine canapés and sparkling reception drinks greet your guests and elegant grounds offer picture perfect moments.

Natalie, you truly were amazing and the whole day felt so relaxed thanks to you. please pass on our thanks to all of your amazing staff, I love how much they all got into it - they felt like guests and it was so lovely!! We felt so taken care of and in such safe hands, everything (especially the food!) just exceeded even our wildest expectations of the day. We are so bloody glad we chose The Barn, it really couldn’t have been anywhere else wanted to say a great big thank you for yesterday. Your efforts certainly didn't go unnoticed, everyone said how great you all were and what a fabulous wedding it was. Was all we hoped for and more, didn't want it to end. I have had so many of my guests compliment the venue, the food and the hospitality from all of your staff. We would like to say a special massive thank you to Wayne, he kept us up to date throughout the whole day and it could not have run smoother, nothing was too much to ask, he really did add to our day and i’ve also had a few guests comment on just how lovely he was, wedding days are normally a bit stressful however ours was very stress free and relaxing due to the support from Wayne throughout the day. Thank you so much for an amazing day! I have had so many of my guests compliment the venue, the food and the hospitality from all of your staff. Every single member of staff went above and beyond for us on our special day! We had the most incredible time and all our guests have commented on how wonderful you all were and how beautiful the venue and the food was. The whole planning journey was a breeze, every time that we went for a meeting we came away feeling totally relaxed , and of course everyone tells you that wedding planning is stressful however if you have the right venue and the right wedding planning it certainly doesn't need to be that way, as we soon found out! The day before the wedding we received a lovely curtesy call to make sure everything was ok and that we were looking forward to our special day. The wedding day was amazing everything went to plan, the venue the staff, the food, the alcohol everything was just perfect we truly couldn't have asked for anything better! All of our guests where blown away by the beauty of the barn. Myself and my Husband would just like to thank you Claire and your team for making our special day the most amazing experience and memories that will last forever! I would highly recommend!!! Our pizza parties are very popular. my personal choice would be the tomato and Mozzarella Arancini bites, melt in your mouth fabulous!
