Description
You have use of a suite of rooms, both period and modern, with comfortable on-site accommodation for up to 45 people, a licensed bar and fairy lit courtyard. When you choose Tawstock Court you are booking your own country estate for your special day.
The Panelled Hall (Max. 90 people) with its two carved wooden pillars and stunning fireplace provides the perfect indoor space to say your vows.
If you prefer an outdoor ceremony, the 16th century Elizabethan Gatehouse, with its original wooden doors, is a lovely choice for a fine weather day or you can also say ‘I Do’ in front of the fountain on the Balustrade with an amazing view across the valley to Codden Hill.
If you wish to have a church wedding, St. Peter’s Church is situated only a 2 minute walk away at the bottom of the garden.
You and your guests can mingle outside on the balustrade or indoors in the Morning Room and Study lounges whilst enjoying welcome drinks.The Lantern Staircase, Courtyard and outdoor spaces along with the ancient woodlands offer numerous photo opportunities.
The new Clutterbuck bar serving Cocktails and Gin is a welcome addition to add some flare to your day.
The Victorian corridor leads to St Michael’s Lounge, dedicated to the memory of the school, for when you fancy a game of pool, chess or table football.
The licenced bar, once the Victorian kitchen with its flagstone floor, is a modern yet vintage style space complete with a carefully selected gin list, lager, ales, cider, spirits and soft drinks, everything you could need for a great celebration.
Finally,The Old Refectory (max. 108 people), has been transformed into an elegant function room to host your wedding breakfast. It has a stunning Parquet floor and reclaimed wood feature wall and, in the evening, sets the stage for a band or disco.
We have recently developed our Courtyard into a stunning space perfect for your evening celebrations with ambience lighting, plenty of tables and seating underneath a canopy of twinkl

Just spent a fabulous weekend there for Ben and Anna's wedding. The accommodation for guests is so welcoming. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious with separate rooms to make tea and coffee and kitchens to make food and socialise. The grounds of Tawton Court are so picturesque and the building itself is gorgeous with lots of rooms suited to each part of the wedding day like a gorgeous panelled room for canapés, lovely refectory for the main reception and lovely large rooms with many sofas for socialising and tea in between the day and evening event. All staff at the venue were so friendly and the wedding went so smoothly and was utterly amazing!Beautiful venue and lovely place to stay as a wedding guest. We truly had the most amazing weekend and that was mostly down to the decision to book Tawstock! To have a wedding venue is one thing but to have the whole place plus all the accommodation and grounds to yourselves for the whole weekend is so rare (unless you want to pay a fortune which we didn’t!). We arrived on the Friday along with lots of our guests and were able to have a lovely evening all together in the shared spaces having a chilled pizza and beer night before the big day. The rooms are all reasonably priced a d so we’ll finished. Huge choice of rooms and I loved the shared kitchen and lounge spaces. Made everyone interact and get along so well. The bridal suite is insane, so beautiful and has a whole space for hair and makeup which is awesome! We then got married at the church which is so handy because you can walk there and back! (So saved on expensive transport for us and guests!) You can also get married at Tawstock itself which would be stunning. If you do get married at the church - have the bells because you can hear them from Tawstock Court and makes it even more of a special venue. We had welcome drinks outside looking over the amazing view and then the wedding breakfast and evening inside; the best bit was there was so many different rooms for different parts of the day. Our guests LOVED the Clutterbuck gin and cocktail bar which is so beautiful. We had a room for welcome drinks, one for a casino (which Laura can supply!), there is a lounge where our older guests could escape in the evening and of course rooms for dancing and the main bar. That’s not mentioning the lush courtyard which is so beautiful in the evening with the lights on. Another thing to mention is the kitchen! It is huge and our caterer loved it! When looking at venues I hated when you were expected to use a certain caterer or in house chef and had to end up with things you had to have rather than really wanted, because at Tawstock you can bring in outside caterers it meant we got the exact food we wanted. Laura supplied breakfast to the guests staying over on the Saturday and Sunday as well. I had no worries to whole day, Laura and her team had things running so smoothly and was so lovely to deal with the whole way through planning. We visited Tawstock many times to plan and scope out for decor and ideas and I never felt like anything was too much for Laura. Honestly anything I wanted Laura accommodated as best as they could. I truly have no negative comments about this venue. I’m so so glad we picked there, I’m almost sad it’s done now because I just know Laura and her team will be adding more amazing things to Tawstock and it will get even better!
