Welcome to The Swan at Lavenham, our iconic and undeniably charming 15th-century hotel and spa, nestled in the center of the fascinating historic village of Lavenham, Suffolk, close to the West Suffolk and Essex border. The Swan is like something out of a fairytale, with original oak beams, open fireplaces, chandeliers, 45 impressive bedrooms and suites to host your loved ones, a secret garden and private courtyard, as well as four licensed private function rooms. Whether you're thinking small and simple, large and lavish, midweek or weekend, we are proud to offer both exclusive-use weddings and more intimate weddings, with each of our private rooms offering a stunning backdrop to your special day with their unique features and charm. To give you a little background on us, we are a family-owned venue, a proud part of The Hotel Folk and member of PoB Hotels. We hold many years of experience in bringing the hopes and dreams of many couples weddings alive, and would love nothing more than to accompany you on your journey to saying 'I Do'. The Swan boasts a home away from home feel and our in-house dedicated planning team are their to hold your hand from your first showing through to your first dance. Jodie, Marian, Lee-Ann, Tasmin, and Fred. All the staff were so friendly. We got married during our stay and every member of staff congratulated us. The general manager was very friendly and the staff could not do enough for us. Without a doubt you made our day extra special. The wedding was just perfect, we were so happy with how the ceremony went and how the day just flowed - just how you said it would! It was a very emotional day for all involved. My twin boys did a good job for us and they were both grateful for all your help and support. John and I had a few days away in a spa hotel in the Lake District and are very happy that the wedding day met with our objectives. We are enjoying all the photos that the family took and keep sending to us and there is not a photo that is not full of huge smiles and laughter. Oh dear can not remember all the names..but Jodie,Bethany the General Manager in fact we were really taken aback at the way all staff members were so helpful to us,no matter what the request. 💯 absolutely! We held our wedding at The Swan during Christmas and New Year 2023. It was a small intimate wedding and it was a great success thanks to the hotel, the staff and especially thanks to Jodie Watts the Events Manager. We had stayed at the Swan several times before and knew the hotel and the beautiful town of Lavenham. However, we were still naturally nervous that all the arrangements would work out. They did and we had a fantastic day thanks to the hotel and Jodie Watts for all your support.We held our wedding at The Swan during Christmas and New Year 2023. The staff were exceptional and done everything they could do to make our stay enjoyable . The wedding party consisted of 40 of us and the food we had was expertly cooked and delicious . Parking is easy and free via a car park at the rear of hotel or a larger private car park across the road . The bar is and always has been my particular favourite area, well stocked beer is always kept well and a large selection of very good wine, in an beautiful flagstone floor , low ceiling beamed area.The staff were exceptional and done everything they could do to make our stay enjoyable .
