You’ll feel just as at home wandering the sweeping staircases as you will dancing with your friends in the Ballroom at night. Combine magic and grandeur with all the modern amenities for a wedding that everyone will re-member. Spectacular in every season, Stoke Place impresses all year round. Enjoy our heritage home in Winter, with snow blanketed across the grounds and cosy spaces for all your guests. In Spring and Summer, the gardens leap into life, teeming with colour and wildlife. In Autumn, you’ll delight in the deep red leaves, roaring fires and sunlight reflecting off the lake. From bright open rooms, to intimate nooks, the chandeliers in our Ballroom to the intricate and historic gates —we’ve created varied and captivating spaces that illuminate the small things that will bring your vision to life. Licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 160 in our Ballroom or 40 in our Thomas Gray. The Ballroom is a light filled and neutral setting complete with high beams that lends itself to any colour scheme or theme. The Thomas Gray is an elegant and glamorous setting ideal for smaller weddings.

The venue is stunning, with lots of different spaces you can use for your wedding and reception, including amazing grounds. There are also plenty of rooms for you and your guests to use depending on the package you book. The team at Stoke Place were fantastic throughout the planning process. Tracey and Alison, the planners we worked with, were both so responsive and always happy to answer our (many) questions. On the day itself, the team worked to ensure everything went well, including adding personal touches for us (e.g. serving us our favourite cocktail on arrival back from our church service). It really was the day of our dreams and I would absolutely recommend Stoke Place to anyone looking to get married in a stunning venue with heaps of character and lots of options to tailor your wedding day! A big shout out in particular to Alison, Renato, Simon, Ash and Patrick for making our day go so well!We got married on 14th September at Stoke Place. Months later and guests continue to tell us what a fantastic time they had. We continue to get compliments on the food, the venue and how smoothly the day went. Our wedding wasn't spared the usual last minute problems (due to an outside vendor), but you wouldn't have known because Stoke Place took care of everything. Their dedication and commitment to helping us have the best wedding possible was so palpable and deeply appreciated. They are a fantastic team, who clearly love Stoke Place as a few have gotten married there themselves! Specifically, the biggest thanks to Tracey, our wedding coordinator, who immediately made us so much more at ease about the whole wedding planning process. From the first initial meeting for a viewing, to the last meeting the day before the big day, she was always there with good advice and a laugh. There were no questions she couldn't answer and she recommended some wonderful vendors which we used as well. She is also very responsive so we never had long to wait before receiving an answer which we deeply appreciated. Patrick and Simon were amazing on the day (and very funny!) and we cannot thank them enough for running the show. We felt at ease handing them the reins and they more than exceeded our expectations. And special thanks to Didier, for his French music and also for helping the bride with her dress on her way to the ceremony! The waiting and bar staff were equally as incredible, especially Janet, from the bar, who helped the bride with her dress after a guest accidentally spilled red wine on it. It could have been a bit embarrassing but by the time Janet was done, no one was the wiser. And months later, no one seems to have even noticed! We had an incredible day and it was due in large part due to the wonderful staff at Stoke Place. The service we received was second to none during the year build up to our wedding. Tracey was always there to guide us along the way and made the whole experience easier for us and instilled so much confidence that everything would be perfect. From all the meetings, calls, menu tasting, etc, we really got to know all the team and how much they genuinely care about giving you the best experience and that you are not just another job for them. The day went so smoothly and they delivered exactly what we envisioned our wedding to be. Didier and the hospitality team were fantastic and the food was amazing! Thank you again Stoke Place, we can’t thank you enough and highly recommend! We wish we could do it all again, but we will definitely be back to stay! All our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the grounds were, there’s so many great picture opportunities for everyone, especially the new swing by the Lake, which everyone was talking about! The staff at Stoke Place really made our wedding day so special! All our guests couldn’t stop raving about how lovely the staff were. The Kitchen staff made THE BEST food. The team on the day were truly amazing and made everything run so smoothly and were just all round brilliant. Last but by no means least, the wonderful Tracey! We fell in love with the venue so much that we ended up booking it for our wedding. From day 1 the team were absolutely incredible particularly Tracey who is the wedding coordinator. Our day was absolutely perfect, I couldn’t fault it. I’m just so sad it’s all over. Tracey was amazing to work with, I have called/ emailed her many times over the past 3 years and she was always so helpful. Also Patrick, the toastmaster!! He was fantastic on the day, everyone commented how amazing he was. It really was such an amazing touch having him there. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One of the most memorable weddings here was a summer garden ceremony overlooking the lake, followed by a beautifully styled reception in our grand Ballroom. The couple brought so many personal touches, from family traditions to live music by the lakeside, and the whole day felt both elegant and heartfelt. It perfectly showed how Stoke Place can be timeless yet truly personal to each couple.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Focus on what truly matters to you as a couple. It’s easy to get caught up in trends or other people’s expectations, but the most memorable weddings are the ones that feel personal and genuine. If you prioritise the details that reflect your story and let everything else support that, the day will not only look beautiful but also feel unforgettable.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of my favourite personal touches was when a couple created a dessert table filled with recipes from their families, think grandparents’ cakes, childhood favourites, even handwritten recipe cards as décor. It was such a thoughtful way to share their story, and guests loved the sense of nostalgia and connection.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
One of the best photo spots at Stoke Place is by the lake, with the water and sweeping parkland as a backdrop. Couples also love the grand staircase inside the house and the gardens in full bloom—each offers a timeless, romantic setting for unforgettable shots.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Built by the Master Chef of kings & queens Stoke Place has a history steeped in hosting celebrities and royalty since 1690 and this has by no means changed. In more recent years we have had the pleasure of hosting many celebrity guests and weddings over the years, including footballer Ashley Young's wedding in 2015 and Line Of Duty star, Daniel Mays's big day in 2018.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Popcorn tiger prawns with chili sauce, they’re always such a hit with guests. They’re delicious, and the perfect little bite to enjoy with a glass of bubbles during the drinks reception.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A bottle of Champagne and two slices of wedding cake in the Bridal Suite is our favourite midnight treat for the newlyweds to toast the end of their perfect day.

Our most unique feature is the perfect combination of historic elegance and stunning natural surroundings. From the Queen Anne Mansion House design to the lakeside gardens and sweeping parkland, Stoke Place offers a setting that feels intimately personal—truly unlike anywhere else

We’re most proud of the experience we create for our couples. From the moment they arrive for a tour to the final dance on their wedding day, we focus on making it personal, and memorable.
