Set within 300 acres of rolling Dedham Vale countryside, this beautiful venue can accommodate rustic outdoor weddings at their Tipi site, surrounded by two stunning lakes and a colourful explosion of wildflowers. Everyone couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the venue looked. Our wedding coordinator Isabelle was so lovely and made sure the wedding ran smoothly. Communication was to a very high standard, asking us what we would like, was everything okay? They suggested things as well. Because of the weather and being dark they asked us if we would like to have the confetti throwing inside? The decorations were fantastic as the venue had been decorated for Christmas and we then added our own touches. Once we arrived back at our room there was a lovely little surprise, we won't tell you as this would spoil it. Even the next day the staff were so helpful, they cleared all the rubbish up and put all of our decorations to one side for us to collect which saved so much time.We could not have asked anymore from every member of the events team and staff at Stoke by Nayland. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of our favourite personal touches we’ve seen is couples writing heartfelt messages on the soles of each other’s wedding shoes. It’s a beautiful and intimate gesture, often filled with love, humour, or a special inside joke. These messages remain a private, meaningful exchange between the couple, yet add a layer of charm to the day. Plus, it creates a wonderful photo opportunity when the shoes are captured during those special moments, making it a truly unique and touching detail.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are so many photo spot opportunities at the venue, its so difficult to choose just one! With 350 acres of land, there are plenty of photo spots all year round. My favourite has to be the blossom tree🌸 in Spring or the wild flowers in the Summer!🌻

We may have had one or two....

Vegetable Gyoza with Sweet Sticky Soy is truly fabulous 😍

SbN Resort’s most unique feature is its breathtaking location within the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With stunning countryside views, serene lakes, and a choice of elegant indoor venues or enchanting outdoor settings like our woodland tipi weddings, the resort offers a truly magical backdrop for any wedding celebration.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
At Stoke by Nayland Resort, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to environmental responsibility is demonstrated through significant investments in renewable energy, including solar panels, heat pumps, biomass boilers, and an anaerobic digester (AD) plant. The AD plant processes local resources and fruit by-products to generate green electricity and heat, powering the resort and feeding surplus energy back to the grid.
We’ve also planted over 60,000 trees across our championship golf courses, enhancing biodiversity and natural beauty. Our dedication to eco-friendly practices has been recognised with prestigious awards, including Best Green Enterprise and Sustainable Tourism accolades.
Water conservation is another priority, with rainwater harvesting systems and on-site lakes used for irrigation, reducing dependence on mains water supply.
Our holistic approach to sustainability allows us to minimise environmental impact while ensuring exceptional experiences for our guests, creating a resort that’s as kind to the planet as it is luxurious.
