St Osyth Priory is one of the most historic and iconic landmarks in England. The estate takes its name from the 1,400-year-old legend of Osyth, the daughter of Frithwald. Why not begin your next chapter here, surrounded by grandeur and history?
We are just over an hour from London on the train, with direct line services from Liverpool Street Station. Giving your guests easy routes to the venue.
The iconic estate is continuing the development and restoration to nurture this area back to its former glory. The Priory is home to ancient lakes, breath taking woodland and historic buildings – with more to be discovered.
Our Wedding Venue holds a Civil ceremony licence and if you would prefer there is a church just a three-minute walk away. You can also host celebrant ceremonies or other religious blessings within our grounds. We can host your ceremony inside Darcy House – The Gallery or Great Hall, The historic Chapel, under the Gatehouse, on the Precinct or in the gardens. This choice allows for unforgettable moments and incredible photo opportunities.
Darcy house can seat 110 guests upstairs in The Gallery for the Wedding breakfast and 80 downstairs in the Grand Hall. There is a lift inside and wide corridors for easy access. Our flexibility allows our couples and event planners the freedom to have marquees or structures in many areas of the grounds, should your numbers exceed this.
There are striking, scenic and historic accommodation options across the estate for yourselves, your guests and you can even book one of our self-catering lodges to return for your anniversaries to come.
Our 350-acre estate holds a home to a selection of rare breeds of deer, sheep and cows enhancing the conservation of the area and making for more unforgettable moments.
