Nestled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Snape Maltings is surrounded by one of Britain’s most breathtaking landscapes – an expanse of reeds, waterways, and wide skies teeming with wildlife. It’s a place of energy, inspiration and creativity, steeped in music, history, and the arts.
Just two hours from central London via Saxmundham Station and with convenient access to the A12, Snape Maltings is easily reached from across the UK.
10 licenced wedding venues and reception areas, ranging from one of the smallest venues in the UK, perfect for intimate vowels, through to the spectacular Concert Hall stage for the ultimate wow-factor.
With a rich and resonant past, built by Newson Garrett, the site was once a thriving hub, sending barley and malt across Britain and Europe. Following the decline of the malting industry, the buildings now Grade II listed were given new life in the 1960s when composer Benjamin Britten and his partner Peter Pears transformed them into a cultural centre for the growing Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts. Snape Maltings continues to host world-class concerts and events, renowned for its exceptional acoustics and inspiring atmosphere.
