Rowton Castle is an exclusive-use wedding venue set within 17 acres of tranquil Shropshire countryside, just outside Shrewsbury. This 17th-century, Grade II-listed castle combines historic grandeur with relaxed country house elegance, offering a completely private and unforgettable setting for your wedding day.
With exclusive access to the entire castle and grounds, you and your guests can enjoy beautifully decorated spaces, sweeping countryside views, and the support of an experienced in-house team dedicated to delivering effortless celebrations. Accommodation is available for the night before your wedding, along with a dedicated space to prepare on the day itself.
Ceremony Spaces
Rowton Castle is licensed to host civil ceremonies in a variety of stunning locations. The impressive Cardeston Suite features striking Georgian-gothic architecture and ornate original details, while the romantic Linden Belvedere offers an outdoor ceremony setting nestled within the gardens. For intimate weddings, the Jaci Vianna Room provides an elegant 18th-century space overlooking the lawns.

I felt very supported the entire way through planning. The dedication and professionalism of staff was better than you could ask for. The effort put in for table settings and all my extras was so appreciated. The food was cooked to a high standard and served by friendly, efficient staff. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The food on the evening is beautifully presented and breakfast is very nice .We can't recommend Rowton Castle highly enough. We booked in 2022 to keep things as stress-free as possible, which was definitely the best choice. Gemma was amazing throughout, always answering our questions and putting us at ease. On the day, Lucie ensured everything ran smoothly and was so well organised. The food was lovely, the service was quick, and everything was beautifully executed in a stunning venue.We got married here on the 20th Feb 2025 and it was perfect from start to finish! Ralph and Gareth were incredible Coordinators – we could not have asked for more. Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The Linden Belvedere and surrounding gardens are a favourite, especially at golden hour. The castle façade and grand interiors also provide stunning backdrops throughout the day.

Rowton Castle is all about creating a private, exclusive experience for every couple, and we treat every wedding like a VIP occasion.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our chefs create a variety of seasonal canapés, but classic favourites are always a hit - beautifully presented and full of flavour. Some of our favourites include Yorkshire pudding with roast beef, horseradish and chive, prawn profiterole with avocado and roasted lemon mayonnaise, and the chorizo and Manchego bon bon, which is always delicious.

Wood-fired pizzas and relaxed street food options are always popular and the perfect way to keep the party going.
