The Rising Sun Hotel is a wedding venue in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, in the South West of England. This charming hotel is perched on Cleeve Hill, the highest point in Gloucestershire and the highest peak of the Cotswold Hills. Here, you and your guests can enjoy stunning, unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside across five counties. The building is made of lovely Cotswold stone and fitted with rows of tall windows that allow plenty of bright natural light to pour in.

Only thing I would change is the squeaking floor boards.. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We held our wedding here and the staff couldn't be faulted. The wedding food was 5*. [I am a disabled lady so stair lift would of been a big bonus! ] (Not a complaint)The room was a good size with iron/board,hairdryer, fan. The bed was amazing so comfy. Room cleanliness very good. How many people can you cater for in a civil ceremony?
Our ceremony room is licensed for 80 people:

Do you allow outside caterers?
We do not allow outside caterers. We will allow sweet carts, crisp wall and cakes.
We do however have a wide variety of in house options available.
What time do we have to finish our evening?
Our bar will close at 11pm as a standard. There are options for extensions these are looked at on an individual basis and do have certain criteria.
Do you allow dogs?
We are a pet friendly hotel, however we do not as a standard allow them in the function room, but please do ask.
Do you dress the room?
Yes we do, all tables have white linen and we will dress the chairs for you and set tables. We then work with you to arrange table decorations.

Do you have wheelchair access?
The hotel is set over several levels all connected by steps, with the function room being at the bottom of them. While there is a door that can open into the function room directly it is still steps to access toilet facilities. We would recommend you contact us and arrange an appointment to check suitability.
What are the costs for civil ceremony?
Our civil ceremony costs are £350 for up to 30 guests and £500 for over 30 guests
Do you offer a build your own package?
We do, all our menus are specially written to allow you to pick and choose what you want on your special day and keep within your budget.
How do payments work?
As a standard we would ask for a 10% deposit at the time of confirming the booking, 50% of the balance 3 months before the date and final payment 1 month before. However, we can also offer flexible payment plans to fit your needs.
How far are you from local facilities?
The closest place to us with shops is Bishops Cleeve which is about a 5 minute drive. We have a bus route directly outside the hotel which links you to Cheltenham centre or Winchcombe.
