Your unique wedding space includes exclusive use of our open-beamed 17th century converted wedding barn with a connecting grand Drawing Room, magnificent entrance hall and a quintessentially English courtyard. Our wedding venue provides the perfect layout for a civil ceremony, a wedding breakfast or wedding evening reception. It is also ideal for small weddings or a larger wedding of up to 160 guests.
This much treasured exclusive wedding venue is family owned and run. Our ethos is based on delivering a relaxed, personal and friendly experience which is why we don’t charge for corkage.
The Great Drawing Room For Your Ceremony
This beautiful room can be arranged for any size of wedding up to 160 guests, either in a traditional layout with an aisle or in a horseshoe shape round the huge fireplace.
Every wedding ceremony is different therefore we can help you theme the room and create your desired ambience. Music can be provided by our built-in music system, or we can recommend one of our talented local musicians to play the beautiful grand piano or any other type of music that would complement your ceremony.
Once the ceremony is over, this room remains yours for the day and can be used for a drinks reception as a wet weather alternative to the Courtyard. It can also be set up as a cosy ‘chill out’ area for guests to enjoy whilst the evening entertainment takes place in the Long Hall.
The Long Hall For Your Wedding Reception
The Long Hall is perfect for a wedding breakfast or reception. Built in 1604, this former farm building was lovingly converted in the early 1900s into a magnificent beamed and panelled hall to create a unique blend of rustic charm and sophistication. The space is 100 ft long and comfortably seats 160 guests. Guests arrive through a pretty brick floored lobby with coat hanging facilities; this room has a lovely view of the Courtyard. The Long Hall is dressed in twinkling fairy lights which set off the exposed original barn features and creates a truly romantic country wedding setting.
A vast inglenook fireplace looks wonderful decorated with seasonal flowers or during the colder months can be lit to create a roaring fire for a traditional winter wedding reception.
Tables and chairs are included in the price of the venue and there is enough room for them to stay where they are as festivities progress as guests take to the dance floor. Between the dance floor and the fireplace, your band or DJ can be set up and the all-important cash bar can be positioned at the other end of the hall.
The Brick Hall
The hall provides an alternative entrance to the Great Drawing Room and features a permanent exhibition of original paintings. This feature really adds to Ramster being a unique wedding venue and this provides another space for reception drinks.
The Courtyard
Guests can enjoy complete privacy of this pretty outdoor space which is ideal for drink receptions, canapés and wedding photographs. The Courtyard is central to the Long Hall Barn and Great Drawing Room, with the Brick Hall also connecting to it.
Our Gardens
Our magical 20-acre woodland garden has featured in magazines such as Country Life and The English Garden. It provides an unforgettable backdrop for wedding photographs. The garden is renowned for its incredible collection of azaleas and rhododendrons which flower in the spring, and its brilliant autumn colour.
Its every wedding that will be the best for that individual couple!
Plan as much as you can in advance and then leave it to us on the day and just enjoy it!
So many different ones over the years, a hobby bee keeper who did little jars of homemade honey, the divine aunty who popped in early on the morning of a wedding to put a family tartan ribbon on the back of a wedding cake, its the little touches that make it special...
Homely, beautiful, elegant, historic, memorable!

The courtyard, the beams, the huge open fireplace, the history, the gardens
I am proud of the service we offer and the relationship we have with our couples and I am proud of the way we upkeep the halls, garden and surrounding areas.
