Next door to a Norman Church, Pauntley Court nestles amongst trees and surrounded by rolling Gloucestershire countryside. This exclusive blank canvas venue is an idyllic and magical family home, full of character and charm. Choose to marry in the Church just next door, have an outdoor blessing or humanist wedding in the beautiful formal gardens or an intimate civil ceremony in the glorious ballroom. We offer a 3 day weekend wedding from a Friday to a Sunday where you can have up to 24 family and friends staying with you. The house and bedrooms are full of warmth and character decorated to the highest standards. There are 10 individually designed bedrooms and 9 modern bathrooms across the estate. We offer you lots of help planning your wedding and a coordinator on the day to ensure everything goes to plan.

I can then tell you all about how you can make a very unique and one off wedding day here, using all the magical spaces over the three days and two nights that you are able to hire Pauntley Court for. As the house is our family home, it has a very personal and warm feeling about it when you come and stay.

- Exclusive use of the Pauntley Court estate from a Friday at Midday until a Sunday 4pm.
-Accommodation Onsite - for up to 24 guests across 10 beautiful bedrooms with 9 bathrooms. We have a list of local accommodation for any extra guests. -
- Use of a wonderful 12m x 9m tentickle stretch tent which is set up in the gardens for either an outdoor ceremony or drinks and canapés if the weather is not clement.
- We are a dry hire venue, who allow you to style the house and your marquee as you wish. We have a fantastic recommended suppliers list available to you.
- Norman Church Onsite - for up to 100 guests.
- Use of the Ballroom for civil and humanist ceremonies with capacity for 32 guests.
- Outdoor ceremonies in the stunning formal gardens, down by the lake or in the magical woodland.
- Use of the gardens and grounds across 20 acres, the perfect backdrop for your photographs.
- For couples who wish to have a larger wedding party of up to 100, we offer an area for marquees which overlooks the grounds and private lake.

The setting is superb, highly photogenic inside and out, and an amazing place to spend a few days. It was also nice that we were trusted to host our guests on the Friday and Sunday without staff being present but were available if and when required. We feel that Holly made our day run so smoothly and she was very attentive. She continually supported us from the start of our planning, right up until the last dance. In the initial stages of our wedding planning, we struggled to find a space that would work for our 15 person micro-wedding. When we found Pauntley, I knew it was meant to be. Melissa is a lovely host, who diligently checked in on us to make sure everything worked as it should. Our wedding coordinator Holly was also an invaluable asset. The day wouldn't have run so smoothly without her. Pauntley's gardens are breath taking, and so nicely kept by Melissa's mum. They were the perfect backdrop to our special day and featured heavily in our pictures. Our wedding day was perfect and it meant so much to us that we could have it at Pauntley Court. And the fact that we were able to spend the whole weekend there with our families made it all the more special. I couldn't recommend Pauntley Court enough to prospective brides and grooms. Part of what makes Pauntley so special is that, despite it's 11 bedrooms, formal entertaining rooms and immaculate gardens, it immediately felt like home to us and to all our guests who stayed with us. It balances its historic character with all the benefits of modernity (such as modern en suites with seemingly limitless hot water!). We were given the run of the house, with the knowledge that Melissa would be there in a flash if needed. On our wedding day itself, Melissa and our wedding coordinator Holly were then when we needed them, keeping the day running like clockwork and unobtrusively ensuring everything came together as planned. In addition, Rachel the housekeeper kept the whole house looking immaculate throughout our stay. We can't recommend Pauntley enough. Its inherent beauty meant there was very little decorating necessary for the wedding. It's owners and staff were friendly, kind and accommodating. After seeing many venue options when we first got engaged, Pauntley stood out from the rest by a mile, not only because of the beautiful house and gardens, but also because of the wonderful venue hosts, Melissa and Mark. They were both extremely helpful throughout all the Covid changes and were so supportive in the lead up and day of the wedding. The house is absolutely stunning inside and out, the pink painted walls feel as though you're abroad and you're surrounded by wild seasonal flowers and amazing views of the lake. We got married at the Church at the top of the drive, then had our reception in a traditional style marquee in the gardens. Our bridal party loved staying in the house for the weekend, everyone felt very relaxed like a home away from home. A summer wedding for 32 using our gardens for their ceremony, dining under the hornbeam arches for dinner and dancing the night away in the ballroom.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take it back to basics. What is important to the two of you? Just because you may be having a smaller wedding in size. Doesn't mean you cant do any of the things that you want to. Such as first dance, speeches and any trends that you pick up on the planning journey!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
There are so many things! A couple created A5 artwork for each guest as a place name. Each name had 3 sentences describing each couple.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Unique, magical, characterful, bespoke and charming.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Difficult to choose, there are so many. One is at the bottom of the main stairs and another is on the flat lawns underneath the hornbeam arches.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not yet! However our coordinators Holly and Rebecca have planned weddings for some well known people!
What’s your favourite canapé?
Goats Cheese and Red Onion Tartlet
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A small glass of our quince gin made by Gun Dog Gin using our quinces from our quince trees.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The reddish colour of the house.
