Licensed for civil weddings and partnerships, our main house is exclusively yours for the day and ceremonies can be held in the Library or the Garden Room followed by canapés and Champagne on our manicured lawns that feature picturesque views of the Chilterns.
You can host a beautiful wedding breakfast within the vaulted ceilings and stained glass of our dining rooms or within a marquee on the luscious grounds, and then dance the night away with a live band or disco.
You and your new spouse will retire to the Abbey Suite at the end of the night, given complimentary from Missenden Abbey. The Abbey features 57 bedrooms so that your guests can join you in the morning for a full English Breakfast which is included in the accommodation price.
From the warmth of our hospitality to the exceptional food, we take care of every last detail. All you need to do is relax and devote yourself to enjoying the wedding of your dreams.

- SSophie & Alex29/04/2025Great flexible venueGreat flexible venueWe looked at several venues within this price range but ended up choosing Missenden Abbey for their clear pricing and the layout of the venue. We only had a small wedding of 60 guests so we were keen to find a venue where we still had distinct spaces for each part of the wedding day, but without any of the rooms feeling too big & empty. We had our ceremony & reception in the garden room, using another indoor dining room for our wedding breakfast. Due to not having a wedding the day before we were also able to set up the wedding breakfast & ceremony decor the day before which really took some anxiety away from the day itself. We loved that the venue was a blank canvas inside in neutrals but with beautiful details & a stunning exterior that we could decorate to our tastes. The way the pricing packages was set up made it really easy for us to get to grips with how much it was going to cost so we could budget accordingly. At the same time, the packages were very flexible meaning we could have exactly the food & drinks etc that we wanted and keep within budget. Overall we had an amazing day and we're so glad that we chose Missenden Abbey as our venue. They were flexible with our needs and wishes and we had the most amazing day. A lot of our guests stayed at the accommodation for both the night before and on the night of the wedding. Everybody commented how beautiful the venue was and so was the food too.Natasha and her team were amazing, welcoming, friendly and accommodating from the first day of looking at the venue, all the way through the booking process and the big day. The team ensured everything was seamless which enabled us to feel so relaxed and fully embrace and enjoy our special day. We will forever be thankful. Natasha was responsive, decisive and explained clearly what would happen on the day, & where they could help solve problems or concerns. Every guest told us how beautiful the venue was, how smoothly the wedding went and how attentive & helpful the staff were. Kathy managed the day perfectly & by the end of the evening we both felt shattered, but so happy our perfect day had been just that; perfectThe Abbey took the stress out of what is supposed to be one of the most stressful things in life. Natasha was responsive, decisive and explained clearly what would happen on the day, & where they could help solve problems or concerns. On the day itself every member of staff was professional, made us feel special and welcome, and many went well out of their way to be helpful. We know this is by no means a given, and we are enormously appreciative and grateful for the help we received during the lead up to the day and on the day itself. The venue is beautiful, both inside the Abbey and the surrounding grounds. The organisers have contingency plans in place in case the weather makes it impossible to take photos outside and we had exclusive use of the Abbey on the day meaning there was plenty of space for our guests to mingle if the bad weather meant they had to stay inside. The food was delicious and we had an opportunity to attend a food tasting session a few months prior to help select our menu options which was great. The benefit of having accommodation on site in the Coach House was an added bonus, especially as many of our guests had travelled long distances and wanted to stay the night. We were also kindly allocated a storage room a week prior to our wedding day to store any large items. In our case, we were having an electric piano delivered and the storage room meant it could be transported and stored safely in advance. The day itself ran very smoothly and again, we were incredibly grateful for all the support and professionalism from the Abbey staff. There were a few issues, mostly relating to our accommodation at the cottage and one of the Abbey rooms (we assume this was due to errors in communication) however every effort was made by the staff to rectify this or compensate where possible. During our wedding breakfast it seems that the microphones hadn't been charged prior to our wedding as the one provided stopped working during the wedding speeches. A replacement was then provided but that also failed. This should be an easy thing to fix and we’re sure the Abbey will do so. Also, in retrospect we felt we could have been better supported by having the same wedding co-ordinator available throughout the day. In our case, the responsibility was passed multiple times and sometimes we weren't sure where to go to find them. Even though we've highlighted a few issues on what could be improved, we want to clarify: overall, it was fantastic! We've only mentioned these issues in order to give specific feedback for the benefit of the venue and any future guests. Missenden Abbey is a terrific venue with terrific staff who, as we're keen to emphasise, are willing to do whatever it takes to make the day a success. We hope to return again and again and have so many happy memories associated with the place. Our wedding coordinator Natasha was super helpful from the first day we met to started planning our special day. Her wealth of experience and advice was invaluable to us and she, and the rest of the team were absolutely outstanding. They worked so hard to ensure our day went without a hitch. The venue was beautiful and the food was exceptional. The ceremony, reception, wedding breakfast and evening flowed flawlessly. When booking a winter wedding we was aware that we needed to book a venue that could accommodate all weathers for photos etc. The Abbey itself is a stunning venue both inside and out so we was confident that whatever the weather the Abbey was going to be a perfect backdrop. Luckily our day was dry and sunny so we was able to take advantage of the Abbey’s beautiful grounds for pictures. We had guests arrive from overseas and The Abbey was able to accommodate their extend stay, requirements and needs to make them all comfortable. Ultimately this stunning venue wouldn’t be complete without its wonderful staff. From start to finish the Abbeys staff were fantastic! They all went above a beyond to help, guide and support us through the planning of our day. We had some unusual requests which they were more than happy to accommodate and work round. On the day itself we could relax knowing everything was in safe hands and their attention to detail was outstanding! Our guests all commented on what a wonderful day they had, how delicious the food was and what a beautiful setting for our wedding. The Abbey looked absolutely stunning, lit up with festive lights and Christmas decor, which was the perfect backdrop for a December wedding. The Garden Room, where our ceremony was held, has an amazing double staircase that makes for a grand entrance. We had exclusive use of the Abbey, which made us feel very special and enabled us to spread everything out. The food was simply amazing. We had so many compliments from our guests saying that it was the best wedding meal they had ever had - and i quite agree! We stayed overnight in the suite which was beautifully decorated and spacious. A number of our guests also stayed which was an added bonus - being able to hold the ceremony, reception, accommodation AND breakfast the next day with our guests at one venue was truly fantastic. Waking up on Christmas eve and having breakfast with everyone after the wedding was wonderful - and delicious!
