Congratulations on your engagement! What an exciting time. We’re really pleased you're considering Mere Court Hotel for your wedding day.
Our country house is tucked away in the heart of Cheshire, surrounded by peaceful gardens, an ornamental lake, and lots of quiet spaces. It’s a calm and relaxed setting that naturally suits a day spent with the people you care about most.
Every wedding here is different. Some couples go big, others keep things simple – either way, we have a few different spaces to choose from, both inside and outdoors. The Arboreum, with its oak beams and views across the lake, tends to be a favourite, but there’s flexibility to shape the day around what works best for you.
We can host smaller weddings of around 10 people, right through to evening receptions of up to 200. Weekday weddings are also welcome and can be a lovely, intimate option.
For anyone staying over, there are 34 bedrooms, including two with four-poster beds. Many of the rooms have spa baths and king-size beds, and we offer discounted rates for wedding guests.
You’ll have a friendly, experienced team here to help guide things along from the early planning stages to the final toast.

Georgia was our wedding coordinator and she was a dream, as was the whole team at the hotel. I cannot recommend this venue enough. They were so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. All of our guests commented on how fabulous it was. Mere Court is a beautiful venue, wonderful gardens, gorgeous rooms, incredible food and outstanding staff. Georgia was our wedding coordinator and she was a dream, as was the whole team at the hotel. I cannot recommend this venue enough. They were so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We only booked in March, and from initial contact with Lyndsey, the whole process ran smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble and they have so much experience, they know the answers to all your questions. It was a large wedding, with 145 guests, and we had full use of the hotel on the most stunning day of the year. Hot weather meant we could have our ceremony outside in the beautiful grounds and enjoy the lakeside terrace late into the evening. The conservatory makes a fabulous setting for the wedding breakfast, entertainment and disco, and the food and wine were fantastic. Lyndsey was on hand most of the day as wedding co-ordinator, making sure that everything ran smoothly and on time, and then Robbie took over for the rest of the evening. (We even had a medical emergency which he took care of). You are in safe hands with these two. Our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to, and this was thanks to the stunning hotel and relaxed, but professional manner of the staff.We got married here 3 weeks ago and had THE most perfect wedding you could wish for. We were lucky on the day and had blue skies so made use of the lovely grounds which has given us the nicest photos. The food was really good, our guests were impressed. From the minute we booked the venue nothing was too much trouble - Lyndsey was always at the end of the phone or email. I really can not put into words how amazing the day was and this was down to the staff at mere court. On the day everything was swiftly turned around and we didn’t have to think about anything because Lyndsey and Megan were already 2 steps ahead! Food was perfect as were the rooms. this venue is also very reasonably priced compared to other venues we got a lot more for our money compared to others in the area. I would highly recommend mere court thank you so much for everything xLyndsey and Megan were absolutely amazing when we had our wedding here on 7th September. The whole day ran so smoothly and the lead up to it was made so easy and stress free by the amazing team. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went above and beyond to look after us and our guests. The grounds are stunning, the food was delicious and the hotel itself was the perfect venue for our intimate wedding.
