From the reception service, to the bar service, through to the coordinators and bar staff. The evening team, and the night squad, all of you played the part for Cherie and myself to have the best wedding ever provided. This day was truly brilliant. It could not be faulted. The day was even better as the sun came out and blessed us all. But without you guys, this would not had been as good because as we know, all our friends and family all enjoyed this day, so without you. It would not had been so special. one last thing...never throw away your beef chef, wow, everyone that ate the beef absolutely fell over heels for it, even if it was served cold (which it was not may I add) it would not matter, it would be eaten for many orders to come. the canapes through to the buffet was also mentioned as being very tasteful. Alejandra has been our wedding planner, she is very professional and very great communicator, during our meeting she prepared us to make sure that everything would have been fine, also she has been so kind to be there during our ceremony to make sure that everything was fine. All the team have been very helpful, they realised all our requests. Hawkwell house hotel is very nice place, with parking or the guests, very welcoming place, nice garden, if you are lucky with weather you can use it for ceremony outside, if not you can use it to take amazing pictures outside. Nice bar service, our ceremony room and lounge room for the lunch are very clean and nice, both of them have been set up with colour and decorations about our requests. Gary the wedding co-ordinator helped us every step of the way and no matter how big or small our request it was always met with a smile and reassuring comment! We visited the hotel several times before the wedding and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food during our tasting was wonderful and even on the day when catering for 70 guests (and 200 evening guests) with different orders; the food was still well presented and tasted as if only one dish had been created. Although some small mistakes were made with room bookings, these were quickly corrected on the day and all the rooms were clean, spacious and guaranteed a good night’s sleep. The honeymoon suite was the perfect way to end a very busy day and we stayed an extra night to enjoy the in room hot-tub for a bit longer! We received nothing but positive comments about every element of their stay from our guests. For value for money, in the centre of Oxford, we could not have asked for more from Hawkwell House. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One of the most magical weddings we hosted was a beautiful summer celebration where the couple exchanged vows in our stunning outdoor gardens, surrounded by lush greenery and delicate flower arrangements. The bride walked down a petal-strewn aisle to a live string quartet, with the golden hour sunlight filtering though the trees. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the lawn, sipping champagne and indulging in gourmet canapes. Our gorgeous bride went in and handed the wedding bouquet to her best friend, whose partner was just behind on one knee. Safe to say it was a very tearful and cheerful moment for all guests.

Lists, lists and more lists ! Having a wedding planning checklist, mood board and budget tracker will really ease your stress and make planning a lot easier.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love it when the wedding includes a beloved pet or when the couple incorporate a little bit of their personality in the little details throughout the day. For example, personalised table names, wedding logos, photo displays from travels abroad etc.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our gardens, summerhouse and Iffley village. We are a short walk from the river, which creates a stunning backdrop for photos if you have a few minutes spare in your busy wedding day schedule !
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
None we can name !
What’s your favourite canapé?
Arancini has to be my favourite, we have a mouth watering selection of canapes !
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
It would have to be the duck pancakes from our evening buffet menu ! Although you can't go wrong with a classic Tomato, Mozzarella & Basil salad !
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Flexibility - nothing is set in stone, we can create a bespoke package just for you whatever your vision may be for the day ! We do also have a BBQ and Pizza oven onsite for those of you who are looking to host a multi day event with us or something a little less formal on the big day itself.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We reopened in June 2021 after an amazing refurbishment, all bedrooms and event spaces have had a revamp which ensures the upmost comfort for our guests. Further the venue actively strives to be as sustainable as possible, serving local produce and supporting local businesses is very important to us.
