Hazlewood Castle is nestled within seventy-seven acres of blissful woodland, boasting its idyllic rural location with ease of access and equal distance between Leeds and York. With several beautiful options for your wedding and years of experience, we’re proud to say we’re among Yorkshire’s finest - with the awards to prove it! Our Castle is steeped in a rich history; Whether you’re a historian or not, there’s a special feeling in the Castle that, we’re sure, is thanks to this lavish past - feel it for yourself on your next visit! Having been sensitively restored and converted into a fabulous destination offering 32 luxury bedrooms, stunning grounds with three wedding venues within, and an award winning restaurant, we offer excellent services making your event a memorable occasion - your event, above all, needs to be memorable for you. Your wedding is our highest priority, and so we pride ourselves in our attention to detail in every aspect. From timings, to decor, to menus, to music, we work as if your wedding is our own, and so no stone will remain unturned. With several elegant private rooms licensed for Civil Ceremonies, a woodland wedding venue, St. Leonard’s Chapel, The Great Hall and a Clear Garden Marquee, we know one of our options will suit you! Why limit yourselves to one potential venue when you could choose from three? It’s a no brainer for us! We’re extremely proud to offer three venues within our Castle grounds. Our spectacular Great Hall can accommodate weddings for up to one hundred and twenty guests. Should you want an event with more guests, our Clear Garden Marquee may be your choice for up to 450. Summer is a sweet-spot for our woodland venue, and the glorious August sun (when we get it!) is the perfect accompaniment to a whimsical wedding nestled deep in the forest.

- KKaty & Toby26/09/2025DisappointedDisappointedThe woodland is absolutely beautiful however the customer service is lacking. The wedding planner I spent over a year talking to wasn't there on my wedding day and handed over a 'file' to the coordinator who I didn't meet until 10:30am on my wedding day. The bridal suit wasn't well equipped, the toilet was leaking and didn't get fixed all weekend. There weren't enough staff to serve the wine at the same time as the food after we were persuaded to have it served instead of left on table for people to serve themselves. All the food was late being served due to lack of staff, serving utensil and cutlery. The gluten free and vegetarian options weren't ready to be served with the rest of the food even though I had marked these guest on the seating plan so the staff would know which tables needed additional options. My cake never arrived (not hazlewood fault) however this was not chased up or even considered until I - the bride - asked about it and my bridesmaid and photographer dealt with why it hadn't come and arranging for an evening guest to bring something so we could cut it. I have contacted hazlewood about these issues and 2 weeks later have yet to receive a response to my complaint. So sadly i would not recommend this venue no matter how beautiful it is. The castle is a true life fairytale venue. Max, who managed our day was truly magnificent. He was everywhere we needed him to be. It is a wedding venue that can compete with any out there bar none. The venue and grounds are stunning. You are surrounded by history and beautiful scenery. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent and Kelly, our wedding co-ordinator was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the get go Melissa our wedding co-ordinator was extremely helpful and responsive, she put me at ease in answering the million and one questions going through my mind and made me feel like nothing was too much trouble. We had two meetings with Melissa 6 months prior and 1 month prior to run through all of the detail, numbers etc which made me feel so at ease that everything was in hand... We had our big day at Hazlewood castle on 27th April and I could not recommend the venue enough! We stayed for an afternoon tea in Feb this year whilst visiting, which was delicious, and the customer service we received from that moment on was impeccable,both in person and via email, and was a very big factor in us choosing hazlewood for our venue (aside from the stunning grounds). Kelly in particular was fantastic throughout and there was never a query that was too much.We had our wedding in the woodlands on 03/06/2024 and couldn't have had a better experience throughout the whole thing.
