Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime moment filled with love, joy, and treasured memories. Our dedicated wedding team will be on hand to help you craft an occasion that is individual, uplifting, and memorable. Your guests will enjoy tastefully appointed accommodations, with 67 en-suite bedrooms available throughout the property. Within 30 minutes of meeting Nicky and touring the venue, this completed changed. The rooms, the ground, everything was exactly what we were looking for. Every venue we saw after just didn't come close. Nicky was absolutely incredible guiding us through the whole planning process for the wedding day and was more than happy to answer any and all questions incredible quickly. Once the day came along we could not have felt more at ease. Everything was perfect and organised, with Nicky and Brandon guiding us and the rest of the guests throughout the whole day. I have heard nothing but praise about the whole of the Gorse Hill team from our guests from their organisation to the quality of the food provided. We only had 1 chance to get this day right and Gorse Hill and the amazing staff helped make this happen and we couldn’t have been happier. Words cannot describe how amazing this venue was. Nicky was fantastic throughout, with great communication and reassurance throughout the process. On the day, Nicky, Scott and the rest of the team were incredible – making sure the day ran smoothly, setting up the tables beautifully and serving delicious food. Many of our guests commented on how prompt all the staff were and how tasty the food was. The venue is stunning, but the staff make it. Shout out to Scott who managed everything on the day amazingly. From the moment we booked Gorse Hill, to the day itself, we felt in the safest of hands with Nicky and the team. So many of our guests complimented the beautiful venue, and we had lots of 'best wedding food I've ever had' comments about the wedding breakfast! Even in the rain, it was the perfect venue and we don't think we could have chosen anywhere better. The bridal and honeymoon suites were so comfortable, and it was lovely to come down to breakfast the next day with so many of our guests still there. Nicky, the wedding manager, was a brilliant help from the very beginning of the process up until and including the day itself. Her communication, attention to detail, and ongoing support was incredible, and she truly went above and beyond to make us and our guests feel welcome. From greeting family members when they visited prior to the wedding, to checking in on us on the morning of the wedding, to popping down to say hi the day after the wedding, we felt thoroughly supported and welcomed by Nicky. She is a professional, personable, and thoughtful person, and is a brilliant wedding manager. Brandon, our coordinator on the wedding day, was absolutely amazing. Brandon was there for our pre-wedding meal the evening before, and he was an invaluable support. He helped us in surprising one of our groomsmen with a cake for his birthday, and even helped us as we rehearsed our aisle walks for the ceremony, advising who should stand where and on which side. On the wedding day, Brandon was such a positive and grounding presence. He was there from the very start to the very end of the day, and made sure everything ran seamlessly. Philippe, the restaurant manager, was truly wonderful during our wedding tasting. He supported us in making the right choices for our wedding menu, whilst also making sure we had a memorable and enjoyable evening. He was funny, kind, and really made this an experience to remember. The venue itself is stunning. We had our ceremony on the garden lawn outside the Mansion House, and we were so lucky with the weather. The grounds were incredibly kept, with the gardener looking after this the day prior to the wedding, and the beauty of the venue and gardens was complimented by so many of our guests. Our wedding breakfast was held in the Mansion House restaurant and was incredible. The food was delicious, and the food service was impeccable, with every guest on a table being served at the exact same time. We were so impressed with how seamless this was. Our evening reception was held in the Garden Suite, which felt like a second whole venue! We opted for the Mexican Buffet for our evening food, and once again the food did not disappoint. We have received many compliments from our guests about the delicious food, impeccable service, and hugely friendly staff. The team were amazing at setting up the Garden Suite exactly how we pictured, with attention to detail at every moment. The venue is absolutely dreamy in the evening with the beautiful string lighting across the path, and felt so comfortable and relaxing for us and our guests. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
One of our favourite weddings took place in the Garden Suite, and it was just magical from start to finish. The ceremony was out on the lawn, surrounded by bright, blooming flowers, it felt like something out of a fairytale. As the sun set, fairy lights lit up the garden, giving everything a warm, romantic glow. Inside, the suite was styled to perfection with lush florals, soft candlelight, and elegant table settings that wowed the guests. A live band kept the energy high and added such a personal touch with one of the singers being a Bridesmaid! It was the perfect mix of elegance and intimacy, full of laughter, happy tears, and unforgettable moments.

Don’t get overwhelmed by the details and stress of wedding planning, focus on what truly brings you joy and create a day that feels truly magical and uniquely yours.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Beyond just dogs walking down the aisle, one of our lovely couples had printed their furry friends on gorgeous napkins for their wedding breakfast, making them true members of the celebration. We thought it was so adorable!!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
There are too many dreamy photo spots to count! But our top picks would have to be our elegant Juliet balcony above the majestic Edwardian Mansion steps and at dusk, the pine-tree pathway lit with fairy lights and sparklers turns into cinematic magic!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Word has it a few hush‑hush VIP's have quietly celebrated at Gorse Hill over the year, strictly behind closed doors, of course.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Ooh, that’s a tough one! If we had to choose, we’d go for the Seared Tuna Tataki on cucumber rounds with black sesame & soy dressing. It’s fresh, elegant, and packed with flavour. That said, the Charred Corn & avocado tartlets with vegan feta are a very close contender and always go down beautifully with guests.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We can’t get enough of the Mini Steak Burgers, juicy, flavour-packed and just the right amount of indulgence for a late-night bite. They’re always a huge hit on the dancefloor. That said, the Patatas Bravas are also a firm favourite too, bringing bold flavour and the perfect pick-me-up to keep the party going.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Where do I even begin? Gorse Hill is bursting with unique features from our grand fireplaces and tranquil gardens to the stunning bedrooms. But if I had to pick one standout, it would be the Juliet balcony off the bridal suite.
Our charming balcony offers a private spot for the happy couple to step out and soak in the serene views, It's the perfect place to share a quiet moment together or capture a romantic photo.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Oh, hands down, it's our incredible team. Seriously, they're the heartbeat of Gorse Hill. From your enquiry to the final farewell, our team is there every step of the way. They're not just staff; they're passionate, dedicated, and genuinely care about making each wedding day unforgettable.
