Egton Manor is a much loved family home, country retreat and exclusive hire weddings and events venue, nestled within the dramatic wild landscape of the North York Moors National Park. Located just 6 miles from the picturesque fishing town of Whitby, we provide a private, secluded and romantic setting for intimate weddings through to celebratory gatherings for up to 160.
We are delighted to be able to share our much loved family home with couples looking for a very special kind of venue to host their wedding.
Egton Manor provides the most beautiful option for couples seeking a countryside getaway in a discreet, private, countryside and riverside location, with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the great outdoors. The Manor is one of North Yorkshires most magical, hidden gems, located in the heart of the North York Moors National Parks.
We have invested a huge amount of love and passion into restoring the buildings that surround the main family home and as a result, are now able to host small, intimate weddings through to gatherings of up to 160.
For those looking to hold their ceremony in church, the Catholic Church of St Hedda is located opposite Egton Manor and just a two minute drive up the hill towards Egton village, you will find St Hilda’s Church of England.
We want to ensure that your experience at Egton Manor is the best and most enjoyable it possibly can be. On the day of your wedding, we will provide you with a dedicated venue coordinator who will look after you, your guests and the Estate. Our coordinator will be in touch with you 8 weeks prior to your wedding day, to run through timings, suppliers and all the final details, but you can of course contact them at any time with any queries you might have.

From the planning to the day itself, everything was fantastic. It’s a stunning venue (very Wuthering Heights) and Laura and Olly couldn't have been better hosts. We had quite a few requests and questions before the wedding and they were all handled quickly. On the day, we felt so looked after by all the staff and everything ran smoothly, which took so much of the stress away. All our guests commented on how beautiful the location was. The log cabin that we stayed in on our wedding night was absolutely beautiful and Olly kindly lit a fire for us before we got down there, so it was lovely and cosy. Waking up to see the trees and hear the sound of the river in the morning was blissful - in fact, we’re hoping to spend our anniversary back at the cabin! Laura and Olly are such warm, lovely people and we genuinely enjoyed every interaction we had with them. We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable, stunning day. At our initial meeting it was clear the the Egton team puts their heart and soul into every single wedding, and ours was no exception. We were made to feel like family, no ask was too much, nothing was off the table. On the day of our wedding, everything was perfect. Sometimes as the bride it is hard to let go and let someone else take the reins but I had no issue. I knew we all were on the same wavelength and the day surpassed my wildest expectations! Everything happened on time, everyone was where they were expected to be, and I am under no illusion this was a tough task but on the day, everything seemed to just fall into place, and this was all thanks to Laura. It prides itself on not being a conveyor belt wedding venue and that’s exactly what we wanted. Laura and Rachael make you feel like your wedding is always their priority, they are super friendly and accommodating to your requests. The venue is fabulous. Depending on the time of year there are so many different parts of the venue to use but it never felt like your guests were split up, it’s always very well coordinated to take your guests on your wedding journey. We had a winter wedding for 55 guests and it was the intimate wedding we wanted and we’ve had so many amazing comments from our guests about the venue, how well the day went and also about how professional but friendly all the staff were. They made you feel like part of the family for the weekend and we couldn’t recommend it more. A hidden gem just 10 mins outside of Whitby. It prides itself on not being a conveyor belt wedding venue and that’s exactly what we wanted. After our first initial visit and chat with Laura we fell in love and booked the wedding even though we had been to many other venues. Laura Olly and staff were helpful, friendly, professional and went out of their way to ensure we had the best day of our life and we couldn't have wished for better.
