We are blessed with a wonderful location! A beautiful old building with contemporary design, perfect for intimate gatherings, a spectacular setting with uninterrupted views and a convenient location, only a mile from one of the most accessible roads in East Anglia. But these are qualities shared with many fantastic venues across the country - we believe your wedding day is much more than a lovely view or an attractive building. It’s about people!
From the moment you celebrate your engagement, your wedding journey is about sharing the most special day of your lives with the people around you. Making new bonds, creating new friendships and rekindling family ties. And that is why our first question will always be, 'what vision do you have for your wedding day?' We are not lovers of packages and we are not lovers of formulaic weddings or processing plants! Our role in this journey is to help you create the day you dreamt of and fit it to the budget you are comfortable with. Sharing your wedding day at The Compasses is a great honour for us. And we will never forget that.

The staff are professional, friendly and compassionate, respond to our correspondence promptly and effectively. They go out of their way to help and they are keen to ensure your day is tailored to you, not just to make this budget friendly, but decoration and organising to day for you. Our wedding day went so smoothly and have absolutely no complaints about anything and everything went well. The venue itself is beautiful, intimate and natural. I love the fact that evening and day time guests can celebrate in one space and not split up into two rooms for dancing and seating. The outdoor space is natural and quiet and there is plenty of spaces to take a breather when the time is right, inside and outside, particularly took a liking to the fireplaces. There are plenty of places to put your personal touches, believe me, we had quite a lot to find places for, and the venue did an amazing job at placing these in the best locations that they thought worked the most to the venue and guests. The venue is wheelchair accessible which made all the difference to accessibility for family members and in general, the space is, in my opinion, the best in terms of layout. Personally, I could not have asked for more and it was the most magical day of our lives and could not have asked for more. The venue itself is stunning, a beautiful rustic countryside vibe, with wooden beams and open fireplaces, beautiful greenery inside and out, even a kids play area too. The bridal room for getting ready has all the modern amenities you could need with plenty of space. Loved the two way mirror extra which was especially fun to see all the guests and groomsmen to arrive. The aisle, wow, we cried when we first saw it and knew it was perfect for us, I have no words for how perfect this venue is. Our day run SO smooth thanks to Charlaine, Della and the team. They are the most wonderful people you could meet, they are professional but with a personal touch even building a friendly relationship with our children (Tommy wiggle bum will always be remembered) Charlaine and Della looked after us as family would and not just another wedding booking, I always felt relaxed around them and always came away smiling with laughter. I have so much love for Charlaine and Della and look forward to seeing them again for our 1st anniversary meal at the compasses. I was nervous as many brides are on the leadup, but honestly there was no need to be whatsoever. There was nothing the team couldn’t handle. No silly requests or questions. We also found their instagram page to be really inspiring with so many different styles they can cater for and real life weddings they have previously done along with all their open days and recommended suppliers. I will be forever thankful to EVERYONE at the compasses for giving us the most perfect day we could have ever wished for. The warmth and kindness felt in person and all communications was wonderful, never felt we couldn’t ask a question. On the day of the wedding we were well respected with our wishes, went so smoothly and couldn’t fault any part of the process. The venue itself is stunning. Beautiful setting, layout inside and out and exactly the right size for our wedding of 60. Having the venue to yourself for the whole occasion makes it feel even more special. The whole experience was so personal from the beginning and we were made to feel very special. Charlaine was so friendly at our viewing and we fell in love with the venue. Nothing was too much trouble Della was superb on the day, we didn’t have to worry about a thing and everything was taken care of so we could fully enjoy our day. The day was such a success and that’s so much thanks to the team there. It’s a stunning setting, with a really warm and friendly feel to the place but it’s the team that really make it such a success. They all went above and beyond to make our day so special to us and guests were all so surprised that we managed to do it all without a planner … but that’s not quite true with all the help the team gave us.
