Imagine saying “I do” surrounded by over 600 years of history at Duart Castle, the ancestral home of Clan Maclean. Perched on a stunning cliff overlooking the Sound of Mull on Scotland’s west coast, this iconic fortress offers a breathtaking and unforgettable backdrop for your wedding day. Still home to Sir Lachlan Maclean, the 28th Chief of the Clan, the castle brings authentic heritage and a unique story to your celebration. To keep your day intimate and special, weddings are held exclusively before or after public visiting hours.
Duart Castle offers a variety of charming and historic spaces, each perfect for different wedding sizes and vibes:
Duart Castle specializes in creating memorable wedding ceremonies steeped in history. While the castle can provide drinks and canapés after your ceremony, it does not offer full reception facilities. Fortunately, several nearby hotels are available to host your wedding reception. The castle team also offers two bedrooms for the wedding party to get ready in comfort.
To make your day seamless and private, your wedding will have exclusive use of the castle outside of public hours. From May to September, ceremonies can be held from 5:30 pm onwards. In April and October, you can choose morning or late afternoon slots starting at 4:30 pm. This schedule ensures you and your guests enjoy a truly special and intimate experience.
