Kilmartin Castle

My husband and I got wed at Kilmartin castle in August 2024. We were both delighted to hire the whole castle and grounds and thoroughly enjoyed the unique and quirky build in all its glory. We made use of the outdoor bbq, fire pit, wild pool, glass house and enjoyed fresh fruit and vegetables from the castle garden. We had the most amazing and magical wedding. Just Wow. I didn’t want the day to end - everything was perfect! The castle is so wonderful - what an amazing renovation. So beautiful but perfectly cosy - I just kept walking about looking at all the details finding more and more each time. I am so glad I picked your place. 3 days is just not long enough. At day 3 I wanted another 3 months ,,, by myself so that I could just pick different rooms/perches/ places in the grounds to just ‘be’ and feel the place and it’s magic. Sitting in the glasshouse with the doors open - the pool and then the view beyond was my very favourite spot. I’d love to keep that bit forever and have my studio (art) in there. Just fantastic.

Nothing compares to the Kilmartin Castle experience. Stunningly restored Castle. If you are looking for a unique, luxurious and remote place to stay then look no further than Kilmartin Castle. Simon and Steph are wonderful hosts and they have done an amazing job of restoring and bringing Kilmartin Castle into the 21st century. The area around the castle has been beautifully landscaped and the swimming pond is fantastic and a great way to awaken the senses!

We were lucky enough to have exclusive use of Kilmartin Castle for our wedding in October this year. Stef and Simon introduced us to our lovely celebrant Annie, photographer Bill and chef Ali. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our wedding and the whole weekend. It is a truly magical place and the attention to detail is beyond anything I have seen before.

We got married at Kilmartin Castle on the most beautiful fall day and the whole experience was beyond perfect. Simon and Stef have thought of every detail to make the castle comfortable and luxurious. We brought a few of our closest friends and it was a weekend we will never forget. Everyone who came to help with our wedding - Annie Loughlin, Bill Baillie, Ali Jones, and Iain Campbell - were just wonderful. It felt like they all truly cared about our experience and were so warm and professional. We came from New York and now both Scotland and Kilmartin Castle will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Kilmartin Castle makes me think of the way Maria Dahvana Headley’s retelling of Beowulf. Like the classic poem, this place transports the ancient into the 21st century, respecting the rich, historical core structure and adding, charm, quirk and a bit more magic. There are no monsters here or little plastic shampoo bottles. There is a concerted care to be environmentally respectful with how the place is run. We had a wonderful stay. What an incredible stay! Our group had the best time and it’s safe to say none of us ever wanted to leave. So many wonderful personal touches to explore in the castle and that record collection! ❤️ The pub at Kilmartin Hotel was great and was an easy walk. We explored the nearby museum and took advantage of the walking trails. Stef and Simon were kind enough to leave a book with a special inscription along with a cake! Very special and appreciated touches as we were there to celebrate my 40th.

Kilmartin Castle is a dream! We’ve always dreamed of staying in a castle and this was a dream come true. Every space in the castle has so much attention to detail, I was literally taking pictures and notes if design elements and pieces of furniture that I hope to find for my own home. The space is so big with plenty of room for my family of 7. We had 5 adults and 2 kids and were more than comfortable. This is a 5 star stay with top of the line amenities.

This is a truly magical place - everything about it was stunning. The renos done in 2019 are superb (watched it every week on Instagram!) - the copper tubs are only one small (fabulous) feature. The Castle is extremely comfortable - everything is there that you could possibly need - very well equipped. It was tough to decide which bedroom to give to each person (at the end - we took the master - wow) - but those rooms with the copper tubs are so very beautiful! Loved the little touches

All I can say is wow! This was the most amazing place on a trip we will never forget. This is the highlight of our 6 week trip, it blew us away! Not only the castle itself but the attention to detail "everywhere". I myself do this in Maui Hawaii and I can only say you must go here and check it out. We loved it so much and will be back hopefully with the whole family. Much Aloha
