Lower House Farm Full Description
A secluded, rural location set in the Olchon Valley on a 70 acre farm with dramatic mountain backdrop. The folding glass doors of the barn open up onto a pretty lawn, orchard and wildflower meadow with plenty of space for guests to explore. The super friendly team at Lower House Farm have a flexible approach, allowing you to put your own stamp on the venue and create the day you’ve dreamed of. With a dedicated wedding coordinator to help you plan the day, they can offer as much or as little support as you would like. Exclusive to you, the beautifully restored, 17th century barn with vaulted ceilings, flagstone floors and oak timber beams has space for up to 120 guests to feast on long wooden tables with sheepskin adorned benches. Once transformed for the evening, there is capacity for up to 150 guests to party the night away. Using their home reared meat as well as locally sourced produce, your wedding feast will be cooked in the woodfired outdoor kitchen. Whilst your guests mingle, they can watch the kitchen magic happen and enjoy wafts of succulent joints of meat and charred seasonal veg being prepared. Take a stroll to their own secret waterfall, play lawn games in the huge field bordering the Olchon Brook, have photos with the dramatic mountain backdrop and even toast marshmallows around the firepit come sunset. A wildly beautiful space to host a day to remember. Book a stay at their nearby country farmhouse, Old Great Marlborough, sleeping 22 and make the most of the wood fired hot tub and fabulous outdoor space!

The most beautiful day, setting and team!

We had the most beautiful wedding day at Lower House Farm and couldn't have asked for a more supportive or organised venue! Lower House Farm itself is an incredible setting - we had our ceremony under the oak tree which was beautiful and our meal in the barn, photos in the orchard and down by their waterfall. It really is such a special venue, surrounded by countryside and we fell in love with it as soon as we visited. Amie was incredibly helpful and organised in the lead up to the day, arranging calls to talk things through and answer any questions, making the whole thing so smooth and stress free. We felt there was enough flexibility to make the venue our own and unique, and the team gave us plenty advice on how to make some of ideas for the day come to life. On the day the team went above and beyond. The food was incredible and we've had so many of our guests comment on how friendly the staff were, and how delicious the meal and canapes were, which was a really important element for us. The attention to detail was amazing - we had quite a few guests with specific dietary requirements but they were given separate canapes and meals which meant we didn't have to worry. We were lucky to also be able to stay at Old Great Marlborough across the weekend too with our nearest and dearest, which made the weekend even more special and extended the celebrations. We left really feeling like Amie and the team were old friends and part of our wedding party, and we couldn't recommend this venue highly enough!

Mr & Mrs James - the perfect day

Our wedding was just utterly amazing. Everything was what we wanted, rustic, bohemian, nature and of course a gorgeous backdrop of the surrounding area. The food was out of this world, so fresh and tasty. Our co ordinator was fabulous, nothing was ever to much and all questions were responded to super quickly. If you’re looking for a relaxed & beautiful venue with insanely good local food lower house farm is the place.

I loved that it was locally/home grown

My husband and I got married here in September 2023. We initially found the venue whilst trawling through google and it immediately caught our eye. Upon our initial viewing we fell in love with the gorgeous farm and surrounding landscape. Natalie, our wedding co-ordinator, was beyond helpful and made the whole process so easy and as stress free as possible. The food tasting we went to a few months after choosing the venue made for some very difficult decisions, all of the food was amazing

The food was incredible!

We cannot recommend Lower House Farm enough, we first viewed the venue in August 2021 and were so happy to finally get married in June 2023. The location is simply breath-taking and the venue and setting compliment each other perfectly, a beautifully cared for collection of barns and spaces which feel relaxed and welcoming. The team at Lower House Farm were so attentive, both in the lead up to our wedding and on the day itself, delivering a brilliant service whilst remaining discrete

We really appreciate the team going the extra mile

We booked our wedding at Lower House Farm two years in advance (during the pandemic) and throughout the whole lead up to our big day, the Wild By Nature team remained attentive, accommodating, thoughtful and supportive in every way you could ask for! Their venue absolutely sang in the Autumn sunshine and we were so thrilled to be able to have our ceremony under their stunning oak tree. Having the wedding breakfast in the restored barn on their long feasting tables gave it exactly the convivial,

You can't beat the food!

A great venue with amazing food. We got married here, so it's very special to us, the setting and staff were great. We've also been to another wedding here, and another 'feast' in the autumn. You can't beat the food, locally sourced meat on their, and other local farms. There's a beautiful, big Oak tree at the bottom of the field, with a little stream below. And post the farm house is a little waterfall that's worth the 5 minute walk

The venue has so many beautiful spaces

Lower House Farm is a special and magical place, as are all of the team who work there. We knew as soon as we visited that we wanted to get married at this beautiful venue. Rustic, natural, relaxed and effortlessly beautiful. We worked with Natalie, the wedding coordinator, who was an absolute dream. She was funny, kind, responsive and always quick to answer any questions or adapt to changing requests. On the day everything was perfect and the guests are still raving about the food!!!

We had the most brilliant wedding!

We had the most brilliant wedding at Lower House Farm in May 2023. We chose it because we wanted somewhere beautiful where we could be ourselves, and the lovely team at Wild by Nature let us do just that. The staff are incredible and couldn’t have done more for us whilst also giving us the freedom to make the place our own for our big day. We’re big foodies and all our friends and family raved about the incredible food! The pavlova and evening curries particularly went down a storm!
