Overlooking the River Thames, the Crowne Plaza Reading is a unique venue for your wedding day. Combining traditional and stylish architecture with contemporary design, the hotel is your perfect wedding venue from 10 up to 180 guests.
The hotel's main banqueting room - the Riversuite, can comfortably seat up to 150 guests for dining. With the Thames as its stunning panoramic backdrop we can offer nibbles or reception drinks on the Riversuite terrace during the warmer spring and summer months.
All our function rooms have their own private terrace; therefore you can fully enjoy the sunshine and relish those fabulous views in our idyllic settings.

The event teams were very receptive to our questions and requests in the months leading up to the wedding. This made us feel well organised. The hotel catering team provided very delicious food. All our guests commented about how nice it was. The room looked beautiful when everything was laid out. We really liked having our own garden area for our guests to enjoy. The location is perfect. Both picturesque and near the town centre for our guests that travelled by public transport. On the day, the team were available and quick to respond to all of our needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. One we will remember fondly for the rest of our lives. We recently had our wedding reception at the Crowne Plaza Reading. It was such an amazing experience with the service at point. Starting with drinks Sunil, Bijay as bar tenders were fun getting served drinks while we visited the bar each time for a drink. Antonio was well equipped with what the task at hand was his team with Sweyta, Karen and Ana made everything go smooth as ice. Thank you guys for an amazing experience. - LLes B11/06/2023Belated wedding receptionBelated wedding receptionAfter 2.5 years of cancellations etc at another hotel group we were at last able to have reception here on Saturday 23 April 2022. The Event Organiser Raluca made sure she was available in case any problems however minor arising could be sorted straight away giving us perfect peace of mind. The Restaurant manager Bruno was there until the end at midnight along with his great team of waiters. The whole event was magical and we felt so special everybody was so friendly it felt as if they were all After 2.5 years of cancellations etc at another hotel group we were at last able to have reception here on Saturday 23 April 2022. The venue was stunning, the service was perfect (and went above and beyond in multiple ways), the food was delicious. Everyone said it was wonderful. Highlights include taking Brides and Grooms onto Caversham Bridge and across the other side of the River Thames to the picturesque Caversham Court Gardens for couple portraits. I've also photographed onboard a boat going up the River Thames to Mapledurham lock and back which was a nice touch during the drinks reception before embarking for dinner at the hotel. Wedding Breakfasts at the Crowne Plaza have always been delicious! It has been great working with their wedding coordinators and catering teams over the years. All the staff I've had the pleasure of working with are helpful, polite and friendly. I also know people who have stayed at the hotel and returned on several occasions using it as a base when visiting family and friends in Reading.Since 2014 I've been proud to be a recommended supplier at the Crowne Plaza.
