Cowley Manor in Gloucestershire is a stunning country house and wedding venue set within a wonderland of lakes, meadows, cascades and woodland. The place can be yours exclusively for both civil ceremonies and receptions.
You can also take your vows at St Mary’s Church, situated within the estate. The bright, tastefully decorated rooms and the beautiful surrounding gardens create an enchanting setting. Inclusive of exclusive use of the property for 2 days, (excluding C-Side Spa) from 3pm on day 1 until 9am on day 3 with an 11am check out of the bedrooms. All 35 bedrooms are included along with breakfast & use of the C-Side Spa facilities for all guests staying overnight. Your guests can contribute towards the bedrooms, whether that be the full room rate or partial which can be arranged directly with the Cowley team. Typically couples ask their guests to contribute £150-£250 per room.

- AAdam & Sophie06/10/2023Cowley Manor was a dream wedding venueCowley Manor was a dream wedding venueMy husband and I had our wedding at Cowley Manor in September and it really was the most amazing weekend of our lives. The whole process was incredibly easy from start to finish, when deciding on a venue we had a few key criteria - a majority of our wedding party can stay on site, we can have exclusive use and there is flexibility with the food. Cowley ticked all of these off. From the initial call with the wedding team, they shared detailed costings, arranged viewings on a timely occassion and were able to hold our potential date up to two weeks which was great while we continued to look. After deciding on Cowley Manor, everything ran seamlessly - they had a great payment plan and stayed in communication throughout the whole process. Their supplier list was very helpful but we ended up going for different suppliers as we didn't live close to the venue. We ended up having a church wedding at the nearby church in Coberley, the team there were incredible also. The food tasting was incredible and one of our favourite evenings, Matt was always on hand to answer any questions and when we wanted to make a few adjustments on the menu they were more than happy to accomodate. Our guests mentioned that the food was incredible on the day!!! We ended up having exclusive use for two nights and we hosted a great BBQ on the friday night, the food once again was incredible! One thing I will note is that alcohol is pretty pricey - similar prices to London. When taking exclusive use of the venue, there are so many different options that you can do, there are plenty of rooms and space on the grounds to really do whatever you'd like. We had just over 130 guests so opted for the marquee on the grounds to host our wedding breakfast, they have great suppliers and the marquee looked fab and really didn't takeover too much of the terrace. The rooms in particular have all been recently renovated and they really are beautiful - I managed to see most of them throughout the weekend and plenty of options for families, couples, twin sharing. The main suite really is beautiful and has the most incredible terrace - its the perfect place to get ready the day of your wedding. When it comes to entertainment, we had many different vendors, all were accommodated amazingly by Matt and his team. We went big and had a 9 piece band and they easily fit in the main saloon with plenty of dancefloor space. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue! I'm so so so jealous of people who are going to have their wedding here next year as it really is a special place. You do have to be a bit patient with turnaround of emails before the wedding but I think that's fairly standard across the industry as they prioritise and focus on the ones coming next. Everything came together in good time. We felt in love with the impressive grounds and stunning manor as much as the contrast with the modern, colourful interior and its many artworks. We felt extremely welcomed from the start and the amazing event team (special thanks to Emma) accommodated our many requests and made our big day feel even more special. We opted for exclusive hire of the manor which was perfect with many guests travelling from abroad and needing to stay at the venue overnight. Due to Covid, we ended up moving our wedding day 4 times, at no extra cost. The food, from canapés to wedding breakfast and midnight munchies was delicious. We’ve just spent a weekend at Cowley to celebrate our 1 month wedding anniversary and were made to feel very special with many little attentions from the team. We know Cowley has changed ownership and will be closing for full refurbishment in the new year but look forward to returning to the hotel in 2023 when it reopens. Every detail was thought of, taking the stress of the day out completely and allowing us to relax and enjoy our moment. Liam, Emma, Matt and the rest of the team made everything so easy, putting all of us at ease and ensuring we had everything we needed in their lovely 'home'. The house, the guest rooms and the grounds (oh the grounds) are stupendously beautiful, well maintained and welcoming. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We loved this wedding as it was so very different! The couple had a lovely marquee wedding with a tipi tent for the children. It was featured in Brides Magazine and included an outdoor ceremony, the bride wore a beautiful white and floral dress featuring roses, hydrangeas and peonies and these were pick out in the flowers that adored the terraces of the gardens which were hand planted especially for the big day to look like wild flowers.
In the evening, the back of the Manor was lit up and the 150 guests moved indoors for dancing to a live band and DJ in the ballroom - it was just a fabulous day!

What is your venue's most unique feature?
There are so many! The Manor itself is Italianate, dating from 1855 and very picturesque. The church is right next door, just 50 steps from door to door!
