Hello and welcome to Colville Hall! I’m Philippa, and I’m here to make your wedding planning feel exciting, enjoyable and completely supported. From your first enquiry to your wedding day, my team and I will guide you every step of the way. It was the very first venue that me and my husband went to view and we decided to look no further! It was exactly what we wanted and ticked all of my husband’s boxes with the place’s history alone. Carrie’s communication was brilliant right from the beginning and she was very helpful with any questions that I had. I’m quite a control freak but Karen took absolutely everything into her own hands on the day.We got married at Colville Hall last Friday and couldn’t have had a more perfect day! It was the very first venue that me and my husband went to view and we decided to look no further! It was exactly what we wanted and ticked all of my husband’s boxes with the place’s history alone. Beautiful setting on a really loved and looked after venue. The catering by Limeberry was top class and with 200 guests every table said their food, of which each guests had a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts, was hot and delicious. I don't know how they managed to deliver ever meal without having to ask who ordered what but they didAmazing wedding for our daughter at Colville Hall. My husband and I were really able to just focus on having as much fun as possible, without having to really worry about any of the practicalities. We couldn't have asked for a better day, or a better place, to get married! Do we get exclusive use of the venue?
Yes. Colville Hall is exclusively yours for the entire day, giving you full access to both barns, the gardens, courtyard areas and on-site accommodation (if booked). No other weddings take place at the same time.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book well in advance to get your ideal date and ask lots of questions!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Singing Waiters who just get the atmosphere going and everyone up singing and dancing.
Are dogs allowed at the venue?
Yes! Dogs are welcome to join you for your ceremony and photographs.
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our outside thatched gazebo near the lake - a beautiful spot for photographs.
What ceremony options are available?
You can marry in our beautiful Ceremony Barn or outdoors in our landscaped gardens. We work closely with Essex registrars, but couples may also choose a celebrant-led ceremony if preferred.
How many guests can you accommodate?
Our ceremony and reception barns comfortably host up to 200 guests.
Do you have on-site accommodation?
Yes, we have The Old Dairy, The Stables and The Bridal Suite - sleeping 20 in total.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our grade 1 courthouse, and our Tudor arch in the gardens.
