Nestled at the heart of 5000 acres of organic farmland on a beautiful Wiltshire estate, CHALK represents a new style of wedding venue, where sustainability and elegance combine to provide a unique and captivating space for the most stylish of couples. Set atop the valley with its wall-to-wall windows, CHALK provides the most stunning panoramic views of the Wiltshire countryside as a breath-taking backdrop for your wedding celebrations. Licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, it is the most idyllic of locations to say ‘I Do’. Exclusively yours for two days, CHALK is the ultimate blank canvas with the space and flexibility to create the most whimsical of weddings - whether it’s a beautiful intimate celebration or a festival vibe with glamping villages. We offer a unique 'day before' service where you will have access to the venue the day prior to your wedding to truly make it your own, enabling your wedding day to be stress-free. In 2021 we added 'The Hide', an idyllic newlywed retreat within the woods overlooking a lake. Cosy up by the fire, relax in the copper bath and enjoy the views with a morning coffee. The perfect escape post-wedding. We can also offer 'Brambledown Cottage', an eco-cottage made entirely from straw from the Rushall Organic estate. With five bedrooms and an open plan kitchen/dining area, Brambledown makes the perfect space for getting ready pre-wedding and for offering to your guests post-wedding. With an incredible in-house catering team, we offer flexible dining and drinking packages for our guests. Please get in touch for our catering information. Alex and I had 3 venues booked to view, we saw Chalk first and fell in love- put down our deposit and cancelled the other viewings! The team are incredible- nothing is too much for them, they go out of their way to do nothing short of making your day exactly the way you want it, support your plans and help you to bring them to life. Our day was the most amazing day, I wouldn't have changed anything at all. I can't thank the Chalk team enough for making our dream a reality. Lincoln- our organiser, the man of the hour on our big day making sure everything went to plan on my 'organised head' schedule, making sure the staff were in check to keep everything running smoothly, being the 'go to' for any queries I had and keeping my guests in check with our schedule.. Thank you for making our day flow with such ease! Tracy- You were an amazing communicater, music organiser, day planner, question queen and guest accommodation organiser. You made sure any questions I had on the lead up were answered to quickly and efficiently so I could focus on everything else I needed to do and you supported us so well on our big day too, so thank you! Phoebe- The Friday before the wedding, you were our right hand, supported me with anything I asked for help with, put out all our tables and chairs, water glasses etc and helped me to arrange how to have the tables. You listened to my plan for making the aisle wider due to surprising my mum with walking me down the aisle with my dad, we worked together to make a plan for how many rows/seats were needed and you helped with everything you possibly could! We then had you there on our special day and you were incredible with all our guests, so thank you! The rest of the Chalk team- our day wouldn't have run anywhere near as smoothly without you all. Thank you for serving drinks, clearing tables, cutting the cake, cleaning up after us all and just generally being amazing. Honestly, thank you just isn't enough for every single one of you at Chalk. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We've had so many unique weddings because the possibilites are simply endless here - we have very few restrictions! We've seen dogs photo-bombing, incredible firework displays, glamping until sunrise, sparklers and firepits, food trucks, live bands and more. We couldn't pick just one best wedding!
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Whether you choose to get married at CHALK or not - we highly recommend opting for a venue where you get access the day before for set up. This is something we offer to all our couples at CHALK as it really helps to ensure your wedding day is completely stress-free. You can relax and get ready without worrying about what your table decor looks like or whether you have enough candles, etc. It can also be really fun to set up with your partner, where many don't do this if they set up on the day of their wedding.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
With the 5000 acres we are surrounded by, we love having our guests arrive by helicopter, or even better, when a couple of our adventurous grooms have skydived in to CHALK too!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our couples love to take photos walking down the single-track road that leads away from CHALK. They also love to take a stroll through the fields - and these photos are always beautifully unique and different depending on the time of year and the running of the farm.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Top secret! We have been told we are not allowed to share!
What’s your favourite canapé?
We love the local wild mushroom and sage arancini and the lobster tempura with wasabi mayonnaise is a firm favourite here too.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Toasted marshmallows shared over our firepit on the terrace.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Outside, it has to be the infinity lawn with uninterrupted views over the Vale of Pewsey. Indoors, the wall-to-wall glazing certainly has the wow-factor!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Creating an eco-friendly venue, without compromising on luxury.
