Originally built in 1870 and completed in 1893, hence the Victorian style, The Burlington formed part of Manor Estates, owned by the Rt. Hon. Jacob 7th Earl of Radnor. The hotel has been lovingly restored in 2016 and offers 60 well-appointed bedrooms, including Superior and Deluxe rooms, some with sea views. This 3 star Victorian hotel overlooks Folkestone's famous Leas Promenade with views across the English Channel.
The recently refurbished Premier Suite opens into to the Martello lounge and bar, which has access to the terrace and gardens, along with the grand staircase with its original stain glass window providing an idyllic setting for photographs.
Our newly refurbished luxury four poster bridal suite featuring a bath overlooking the sea offers a perfect end to your first night as a married couple.
Our team of Chefs create excellent menus using locally ethically sourced ingredients where possible, complimented by a comprehensive wine list.
The Burlington Hotel is licensed to hold civil ceremonies and partnerships in our beautiful Radnor Suite overlooking the garden.
Every wedding or civil partnership is uniquely special and we believe your day should reflect this. Our dedicated team will help take care of all your arrangements and make the whole process seamless. The ceremony was in a church but everything else took place here. I was also here with my family for a few days before and with my husband 2 days after. I cannot begin to describe how perfect everything was, but our most sincere gratitude goes first and foremost to the staff. Every single individual we interacted with added so much value to our experience. They calmed our nerves, they attended to each and every thing we needed, they were SO patient (we had 80+ guests and were very chaotic, misplacing room cards/asking for taxis and changing our minds constantly, language barriers and Eastern european traditions) they accomodated Everything and Everyone! Once our loved ones left, we still felt surrounded by friends. They were so conversational, genuinely interested in how we feel and how things went. They blended in beautifully with our guests, spoke to everyone with calm and engagement. The staff exceeded all our expectations by far! And so did the hotel, as we felt like we were in a castle. The rooms were impecable, everyone was pleasantly surprised with the quality, decorations, and the breathtaking sea/garden views and superb Victorian buildings nearby. The location was excellent, we always walked to the station (even with luggage) and to the centre, to the beach, the Leas, it felt like the best possible spot. A very special thank you goes towards Laurent, who gracefully helped us organise everything. From the first enquiry to the wedding day, he brought his rich experience, knowledge and unique humor and truly embodied the essence of this magical occasion. Not to mention everyone found him hilarious! You could immediately trust Laurent with such a huge event. I wish everyone's weddings would be organised by someone like him. At the end of the day, the prime location, exquisite food options at their restaurant, Huge space for the wedding reception (the Premier room, the bar area, the terrace and garden), the unrivalled quality of the hotel experience and the Perfect staff, The Burlington Hotel truly is the best place for a new beginning! The Burlington is not only stunningly beautiful, it has the most wonderful staff who done everything they could to make our day as magical as it was. The hotel- beautiful hotel on beautiful grounds. Our hotel room was to die for, 4 poster bed, freestanding bath, fresh flowers, chocolate and fruit. It was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony- the ceremony room was beautiful, out of the way from other guests and perfect size to fit our nearest and dearest in, without it being too big and empty looking. The staff- the staff are what made our wedding so special and stress free. They were there every step of the way to help guide and support us. If we needed a hand someone was there within seconds. A special mention to Joanne who, without doubt is the most professional, friendly and warm hearted person myself and my husband could have wished for to help us through the whole process. All in all the Burlington hotel is by far the most perfect venue for a wedding. I have, and will continue to recommend to all I speak to. The whole day was beautiful and the staff were so helpful and supporting especially the toast maker and jo. This will be a hotel me and my husband continue to visit. - MMr & Mrs Arnet08/10/2016Perfect day and the best wedding Perfect day and the best weddingAfter searching through several wedding reception venues for our daughter and son in law to be, and getting very few positive reply's to our telephone calls and emails we decided to speak to Joanne the events manage at the Burlington Hotel. We where not the easiest of clients to please because we did not want a standard package but Joanne was amazing. The wedding reception was tailored to our every want and need. The food for the wedding breakfast and the buffet was excellent as was the service. I would like to mention and thank Andy the restaurant manager for his very professional service and his very well trained efficient staff who carried out their duties seamlessly. The bar manager was extremely efficient and kept no one waiting. We had a wonderful Toast Master in Trevor Smith who kept everything flowing with his very professional whit, charm and organization skill, he worked with Joanne to ensure that we all had a perfect day. The photographer we used was Albane from Sandgate who was recommended by the Burlington and was perfect and worked seamlessly throughout the day from 10am in the morning at our house through to the church service and on to late evening. At the end of the evening we retired to very comfortable refurbished rooms with great bathrooms and every need was catered for. All in all we would like to congratulate and thank the Burlington Hotel and its wonderful staff for a perfect day and the best wedding reception we have ever attended. This was not only our opinion but was repeated by several of the guests.
