An enchanting vintage setting for your wedding! Set in the heart of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, we can host civil ceremonies and receptions in our stunning glass-roofed venue, which forms an impressive backdrop for any wedding. The 25-acre site offers endless photographic opportunities. We can cater for up to 150 guests for a sit down meal, and we have a large, separate dance floor for the celebrations afterwards! You can even arrive at your wedding by steam train! Set in the beautiful village of Quainton, our stunning glass-roofed railway building was formerly the old Oxford railway station building, Rewley Road, which was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton who also designed Crystal Palace. Dismantled and rebuilt at our heritage site in Quainton, it makes an impressive backdrop to any wedding, vintage or otherwise. We are also licensed for civil weddings so you can hold your wedding ceremony here if you choose. For smaller weddings our Oxford Room can seat 20-30 for a more cosy feel.

The price is for the venue for the whole day, including time to set up the day before. Tables and chairs are also included, which we set up and take down. Large separate dance floor. Everything else is a blank canvas for couples to plan. We have a dedicated Functions Manager to help with all the organisation involving your wedding venue. We can recommend local caterers, light and sound etc. Mid-week and smaller weddings can incur a lower fee.

We wanted a unique and fun venue that could host both wedding and reception and my husband loves steam trains so it ticked a lot of boxes! The ability to hire your own vendors enabled us to have a truly special day that was tailored to our tastes. We had a wonderful day and I would definitely recommend the venue over and over again!We held our wedding and reception here on a beautiful spring day in April 2023. We were able to use our own suppliers, including an inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, ceilidh band and hire of a steam train. We were also able to order a custom headboard from an external supplier to fit to the train for the day. The staff at the centre were fantastic and took time to talk to our guests about the history of the centre. A fully customisable experience, at a unique venue that all our guests loved!Buckinghamshire railway centre were fantastic from start to finish. We were able to use our own suppliers, including an inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, ceilidh band and hire of a steam train. Growing up in Quainton I knew the Railway Centre was the perfect venue for our wedding. Belinda and the team were helpful and on hand to answer all our questions. Selecting all our own vendors allowed for us to make the day exactly how we wanted it. All our guests loved the venue. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone thinking of getting married somewhere a little different. Not only were Belinda and her team responsive, proactive, and ludicrously helpful in the run up (a stressful time), but their help and coordination on the day was brilliant. The platform is the perfect shape and width for a wedding isle, flanked by gorgeous historic carriages and steam locomotive. As wild card venues go this one really does have everything, we had our whole day here from ceremony, wedding breakfast through to dancing the night away. We got married in November and we were worried about it being dark the venue just came even more to life at night, we were also worried it might get a little chilly, but the inside is heated.We couldn't have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding if we tried. The staff were really helpful and professional from the first enquiry to the end of the wedding day its self. Many of our guests told us that it was one of the best and happiest weddings they had been to. The train rides added to the day and the space outside enabled the children to expel their energy. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who's looking for a fabulous experience.We had such a lovely and happy day at my daughters wedding. Equally brilliant are the staff. So helpful and accommodating right from the get go. They really show their passion for the venue and clearly just want you to have the best day and we did! We also hired the steamy rain and the guests absolutely loved the this too. We honestly can’t rave enough about how amazing the venue and staff are!The venue is beautiful, unique and we had sooo many guests in fact all the guests and vendors tell us how wonderful it was to attend/work in a place so lovely. What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Our venue is a showcase for bunting! We love bunting and it looks amazing when there are lines and lines of it donning our beautiful glass roof. My favourite was when one couple chose colourful ribbon, instead of the usual flag bunting!

What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our wedding couples can go off on a Vintage Steam Locomotive and then 'arrive' back to their awaiting guests to welcome them as a newly married couple! Then, all their guests can take a ride during the day!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Some of our locomotives are over 140 years old and have been beautifully restored by our volunteer members and are stunning - one is on display in our wedding venue alongside some beautiful restored carriages!
