Buckinghamshire Railway Centre Full Description
An enchanting vintage setting for your wedding! Set in the heart of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, we can host civil ceremonies and receptions in our stunning glass-roofed venue, which forms an impressive backdrop for any wedding. The 25-acre site offers endless photographic opportunities. We can cater for up to 150 guests for a sit down meal, and we have a large, separate dance floor for the celebrations afterwards! You can even arrive at your wedding by steam train! Set in the beautiful village of Quainton, our stunning glass-roofed railway building was formerly the old Oxford railway station building, Rewley Road, which was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton who also designed Crystal Palace. Dismantled and rebuilt at our heritage site in Quainton, it makes an impressive backdrop to any wedding, vintage or otherwise. We are also licensed for civil weddings so you can hold your wedding ceremony here if you choose. For smaller weddings our Oxford Room can seat 20-30 for a more cosy feel.

A beautiful setting!

I was the photographer for a wedding held at Bucks Railway Centre recently. I would highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a a very unique place for your day. The glass roofed platform is a beautiful setting to get married in and the grounds are so much fun for you and guests as well. I hope to be back there again soon for another wedding!

The best place in the world!

This was the best place in the world! The centre is just fantastic for a wedding - you get to choose all your own suppliers, nobody is shifted around whilst rooms are turned over, the outside is lovely and the train… well, we had some very excited grown up male guests who queued to pull the whistle 😂. Emma was a fantastic support, including the day before and the actual day. All the staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. So glad we chose to get married here!

Stunning venue for our special day

It was second time around for both of us and we wanted something a bit special. The museum fitted the bill. From our initial enquiry through to the day after the ceremony nothing was too much trouble. A huge plus for us was that the venue was fog friendly which meant our dogs could be with us all day and be part of the ceremony. No being forced to use preferred suppliers and we ended up having a fish n chip van and mobile bar within a vintage caravan. Because of the museum setting we felt like we didn’t have to dress the venue as there was already so much interesting pieces around the platforms. Cant express enough what a fantastic and unique setting this is

A perfect venue for a perfect day

We got married at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre back in June 2022 and to this day all recieve compliments on the venue. Our guests found the whole experience, including the train ride, enchanting. Everyone at the venue were very helpful and hospitable, and the venue itself provides so many unique photo opportunities. If we did it all again we'd definitely go back to the railway centre.

My wedding was held recently at Buckingham Rail centre and it was a wonderful experience

My wedding was held recently at Buckingham Rail centre and it was a wonderful experience. The venue is quite unique, and it is a real piece of railway heritage in a pretty setting. The centre provides the ability to customise and tailor a wedding to your own taste, through recommended suppliers. A steam train took our guests on a short trip on the day on the historic railway. I would like to say a special thank you to the kind gentlemen who provided this service. It was enjoyed by all of our guests. Finally I would like to comment on the professional and helpful team from Buckingham Railway, Emma, Phil and Sarah. Thank you for your support and kindness and for helping to make our day possible.

Absolutely perfect venue

Held our wedding at the Railway Centre last weekend. Absolutely perfect venue and made a fantastic backdrop to our day. Emma was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Our guests went away raving about the venue and they all loved the train ride. Tom from Inspira Events provided fantastic lighting for the evening and Nigel the DJ was excellent. Thank you all!

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the centre

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the centre. Emma was fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We loved this venue as it requires very little room dressing due to all the items already in the centre. we were also lucky enough to have a steam engine on the day as well for our guests to ride on after the ceremony. Would recommend this venue to anyone looking for something a little different on their special day.

Such a unique and romantic venue

A big thanks to Emma and all the team at Bucks Railway Centre for making our dream day so special! From the initial tour, through covid related re-organisations to finally getting there, Emma and the staff could not have been more helpful. As for the venue itself, so many of our guests were amazed and delighted at such a unique and romantic venue! Also great for all the kids we invited as it had so much for them to do. Had many comments on how it it was the best wedding they had been to!
