Exclusive hire of venue from midday on Friday to midday on Sunday. Chalkney Water Meadows is the larger of the two venues accommodating up to 180 guests. The venue is hidden away among ancient woodland next to a picturesque river and a tree-lined lake. Humanist ceremonies take place on the willow tree pontoon with celebrations held in the giant hat tipis! It’s a stunning location for an outdoor wedding in Essex. There are 20 luxurious bell tents (and more if you have a big guest list!) for guests to glamp in so no need to worry about taxis. Each tent can sleep between one to four guests. In addition, there are two luxurious lakeside log cabins, making for a perfect wedding suite or place for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in on the morning of the wedding or for family accommodation. Teybrook Orchard is nestled at the heart of Teybrook Farm between an old fruit Orchard and a 20 acre woodland. Ceremonies take place in the woodland and celebrations follow in the beautiful Bohemian lined marquee which can accommodate up to 120 guests. There are 10 luxurious dwellings onsite for glamping accommodation for up to 40 guests, including bell tents, yurts, a shepherd’s hut and even a converted grain silo. You can also hire additional bell tents or let your guests to pitch their own tents. 20% discount for mid-week weddings. We have 2 different outdoor wedding venues available to hire from midday on Friday to midday on Sunday, so for 48 hours rather than a 1 day booking! Our prices start at £4,100 (for smaller sized weddings) and go up to £11,650 for larger weddings. This price includes a Browning Bros. venue manager to help you with your planning as well as a venue manager on the day to help run the wedding. Please enquire for further details.

We had our wedding at Chalkney Water Meadow, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The relaxed, festival-style vibe was exactly what we were looking for, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. Surrounded by nature, with a beautiful open space and a laid-back atmosphere, it felt like our own little world for the weekend. We stayed in the beautiful on-site lodges, which were a peaceful and comfortable retreat before and after the big day. Our guests absolutely loved the glamping experience—everyone raved about how fun and unique it was to spend the weekend in bell tents under the stars. It really added to the atmosphere and made the whole celebration feel more like a mini festival than just a one-day event. From start to finish, Holly was absolutely incredible. She was calm, kind, and completely on top of everything—guiding us through the planning process and making the entire weekend run smoothly. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, which meant we could truly enjoy the moment.Holly’s communication with us was absolutely incredible,her knowledge and advice was outstanding and she exceeded our expectations.Holly was instrumental in a perfect weekend. The staff at the venue were also amazing—friendly, helpful, and always one step ahead. Every detail was thought through, and it all came together so naturally. We’ve had so many compliments from our guests about the vibe, the setting, and how well the day flowed. If you’re after a unique, relaxed wedding in a beautiful location with an exceptional team behind it, we can’t recommend Chalkney Water Meadow and Holly highly enough. We had our wedding at Teybrook Orchard, run by the amazing Browning Bros, and it was truly everything we could have dreamed of and more. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was the perfect setting for our autumnal woodland wedding — rustic, romantic, and completely magical. Our wonderful wedding coordinator Gill was an absolute star. She went above and beyond to make sure every detail ran smoothly, from the ceremony to the evening celebrations. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and her calm, friendly approach meant we could truly relax and enjoy every moment. The venue itself is breathtaking — surrounded by beautiful trees and nature, it created the perfect backdrop for our traditional handfasting ceremony. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how unique and atmospheric the setting was, especially with all the autumn colours adding to the enchantment. We’ll treasure the memories of our day at Teybrook Orchard forever. We got married a few weeks ago at Chalkney Water Meadows and we highly recommend the venue if you're looking for a wedding in the middle of the nature ! Holly and Gill were amazing and helped us before and on the special day. A magical weekendA magical weekend
My partner and I celebrated our wedding at this venue and it was nothing short of magical. It was so nice to camp amongst our family and friends and end the night sat around the fire. The yurts are so comfortable you wouldn't even know you're camping! They are kitted out with everything you might need, including an electric blanket for colder nights. The toilet and shower facilities were modern and clean, and created a great space for everyone to get ready together the morning of the wedding. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and crockery, and there was enough fridge and freezer space to keep us going all weekend. The Browning Bros staff were on hand to make everything run smoothly and were quick to resolve any issues that arose over the weekend. This has taken a long time to write, simply because I don’t know how I can put into words how amazing our wedding at Chalkney Water Meadows was in June 2025… But here goes! When we began looking for outside wedding venues, the venue kept popping up online. It was the first venue we viewed, and subsequently the only one! We fell in love with the beauty of the venue and the relaxed feel, it was perfect. Holly was great in explaining everything, we had regular catch ups and she provided all the information we needed, as well as all the answers to our many questions! On our wedding day, Meg and the Browning Bros staff were superb. Especially given it was a 30°C day! Meg suggested we move the speeches outside into the shade after the wedding breakfast, which was a fantastic idea and was appreciated by all! All the day guests, glampers and campers had a wonderful time and there were so many compliments about the venue and the staff. My Wife and I got married at Chalkney Water Meadows July 2025 and couldn't be happier. The venue is stunning, having places for our guests to stay on site meant that there was no complicated travel arrangements to work out, the venue has so much that we didn't need a huge amount of flowers or decorations compared to other venues we reviewed and the venue allowed our dog to be on site and part of our special day. Beyond the venue that from all the photos you can see is beautiful the staff are just outstanding. Gill, Head of Weddings at Browning Brothers, I cannot rate highly enough, for me, the groom, running around in the morning pulling the last touches together while my wife got ready was accompanied by my cries of GILL!!. From helping my steam by shirt because I didn't know how to use the Steamer to pinning on the flower thingy GILL was just there. We had a smallish wedding. 80 Guests. And it worked out brilliant. PS ... I would also recommend hiring one of the lodges. There is a getting ready 'tent' but the Water Lilly Lodge meant that the night before the wedding my Wife was in a hot tub, and there was a really nice vibe for the ladies getting ready in the morning. Plus my 80 year old nan could stay on site as the beds in the tents would have been a little too low for her.. What can we say. Our experience from our first wedding enquiry with Holly to the week after our wedding has been fantastic. We got married at Teybrook Orchard 7/6/25 and everything about this venue has a ethereal and Fae like charm. From the woodland ceremony area, to the marquee, the yurts and even the sound of the stream trickling passed the site. Even the toilets and showers sparkle ! No really haha. It was truly magical. We were able to customise the venue exactly how we dreamed. Holly went above and beyond at every turn and helped make it an experience to remember. She was contactable through out all the planning, with vendor recommendations, ideas etc. She was available the day before and on the day. The process was so relaxed and the day ran smoothly.... Thanks to holly! I have a disability and this flared up over the wedding...Holly supported me through out, offering kind words, ice packs, checking in on me and coordinating the day to help me get recovery time and enjoy our special moments through out. She truly helped make the small moments special. An example of this was bringing us our stonebaked pizza "takeaway" style to our yurt were I could rest... And share an beautifully intimate moment with my husband. Reminding us that this day was about the two of us and that our guests were happy and taken care of. Thanks to holly we were able to capture a truly beautiful moment. I can not thank her enough, recommend this venue highly enough or the Browning Brothers company as a whole. Our guest are still talking about it a month on and have all said it the most amazing wedding venue they have ever been too. Our experience was thoughtful, intimate, tailored and pure magic. We recently got married at Browning Bros – Teybrook Orchard, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. 💍🌿 After searching high and low for something less “stuffy” than a traditional wedding venue, we instantly fell in love with this absolute gem. The space is beautiful, well cared for, and even though it's outdoors, it still had such a cosy, intimate vibe — exactly what we were hoping for. Being able to stay the night before meant we could set up at our own pace and spend some lovely quality time with our family. It really set the tone for the relaxed, joyful day that followed. The wedding itself was a total dream from start to finish. We had so many compliments from our guests. From how gorgeous the venue was to how amazing the bar staff and cocktails were (seriously, 10/10)! A huge shoutout to Holly, who was incredible throughout the entire planning process. She was responsive, full of great ideas, and on the day, she looked after us so well, making sure everything ran smoothly and that we were feeling okay too. All in all, the perfect few days. I got married here on 28/08/2024 and it was the best day of my life. The accommodation is amazing, the scenery is stunning and I felt like I was in a fairy tale the whole day. All the staff were extraordinary and kept my nerves down - especially Gill. Even though this place is a fifteen minute car ride from me, it feels like it's a whole world a way and I would definitely recommend to anyone getting married. I got married here on 28/08/2024 and it was the best day of my life. The accommodation is amazing, the scenery is stunning and I felt like I was in a fairy tale the whole day. All the staff were extraordinary and kept my nerves down - especially Gill. Chalkney Water Meadows by car: The post code brings you to a van garage called Colne Commercials but you will see the entrance to our meadows next to this garage called "Chalkney Water Meadows". Once you are through the gates, you will come down a track and find sign posts which will direct you to our beautiful tipis! Teybrook Orchard by car: The post code brings you the Teybrook Centre or Barn Brassiere. Make sure either are on your right hand side and carry on up the road 50-100m until you see a sign on the left hand side saying "Teybrook Orchard". Once you are through the gates, you will come down a track and find sign posts which will direct you to our beautiful venue.
