I'd love to show you round Brockholes floating Visitor Village and if you are lucky, you may see a heron or kingfisher on Meadow Lake! Brockholes is a unique location and we love nothing more than a good wedding.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

They're all my favourite! But I love a summer wedding with a barbecue and an outdoor drinks reception - everyone is relaxed and happy, drinking gin and tonics by the lake as the sun sets.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Prioritise what you book: choose what really matters to you and get that sorted nice and early. You'll feel so much more prepared knowing you've got your venue or photography sorted, or that you've made sure you've secured your perfect date.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Once, the Father of the Bride sang 'You are my Sunshine' during a ceremony... There was not a dry eye in the room!

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Beautiful, unique, relaxed, wild, welcoming

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Brockholes is full of gorgeous photo spots but some of my favourites are the boardwalk approaching the Village, surrounded by the lake, our secluded sunken seating, and the boardwalk into the reedbed.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Prince Harry joined us for a day and enjoyed his lunch in our den. Closer to home, Alison Hammond made bird-feeders at Brockholes during her tour of the UK!

What’s your favourite canapé?

They're all delicious but the mini roast beef and yorkshire pudding is amazing. The goats cheese and red onion crostini is also a winner.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

After a night of dancing, our guests love tucking into a bacon or veggie sausage butty.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

We're a floating wedding venue - your ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception all take place in our floating village.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Every wedding at Brockholes helps fund our vital conservation work across our region.
