From the help on the Friday set up, to your attentiveness on the day, we could not fault you. THANK YOU. We were so impressed with your wonderful colleagues and staff, all of whom were punctual, polite and happy to help us throughout the day. Both of your team members behind the bar were so lovely, and the team who served the food made such a professional impression on our guests that they felt they were dining in a top restaurant! The food was out of this world and many of our guests have given great feedback. We can't wait to book a dining experience in the restaurant to taste more delicious food! Everything that you did was simply a work of art and exceeded our wildest expectations( still not sure how you arranged the Spitfire flypast!) Everyone commented on how lovely the food was and the service was second to none! Nothing was too much trouble for Claire and on the day she seemed to be everywhere to help with everything!! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
Every wedding is special in its own way however one that stands out was an international wedding with a young Scottish and American couple. Family and friends has travelled from all over to celebrate and they finished the night with the most brilliant Ceilidh which worked wonderfully in our barn space.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's tempting to stress about your wedding 365 days from the day you've booked your venue. Our easy planning process helps guide our couples through the sometimes overwhelming (at first) planning and our team on the day will ensure everything runs smoothly so you don't have to clock-watch and can fully enjoy your day
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
I love when couples involve their pets in their day! Our venue is dog-friendly.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our countryside location on the vast Rougham estate provides ample photo opportunities. From artist carved trees on the meadow to our oak lined driveway and of course the backdrop of our stunning 16th century barn. We also get the most beautiful 'golden-hour' and couples often head to the forest to steal away some sunset moments together

What’s your favourite canapé?
Foodies rejoice. We have a wide variety of canapes that are prepared by our onsite chefs (who also run our critically acclaimed chefs' table restaurant). A firm favourite is a tie between the Deep-friend Panko-crumb Pork Belly with Burnt Apple Puree or our Wild Mushroom Arancini with Truffle Mayo.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
A late night hog roast is as impressive as it is delicious. Our chefs roast the hod throughout the day and carve in front of your guests.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our barn is 500 years old and comes with a wealth of history. The beautiful thick thatch and beams not only make for a stunning venue for ceremonies and receptions but also keep the barn cool in summer and warm in the autumn.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
There are so many things we're proud of. As passionate foodies who also own a critically acclaimed restaurant and distillery, we're confident that our menu and drinks package offering is one of the best around. Our event team are also dedicated to delivering the most perfect stress-free days. Our offering is unique compared to most barns which tend to be dry-hire. At Blackthorpe we have everything on site and help plan your special day to your budget.
