- Blackfriars Priory is truly one of a kind. The beautiful historic fabric has been retained and complimented with contemporary design with features such as a dramatic full glass wall overlooking the ancient ruin. The venue is steeped in history, displaying original 13th century oak beams that were gifted to the site by King Henry III
- You can experience the beauty of this scheduled monument, including the private courtyard garden, the magnificent scale of the 65ft original scissor-braced roof and the Scriptorium, the oldest and most well preserved, medieval library in Britain.
- Whether you are looking at a small and intimate wedding with your closest friends and family or a large scale celebration with a difference, we offer a selection of packages to suit every style and budget.

The space was beautiful, welcoming, and created the perfect atmosphere for our special day. Jo and the team were great, always professional from the start with the venue planning, always being available to talk to and even went the extra mile even putting the final details on our cake during the day. Everything was thoughtfully arranged and flowed seamlessly. The team worked tirelessly, rearranging the room for the evening and even packed away our things to pick up the next day. Always serving with a smile. The staff were kind and incredibly helpful, making sure every detail was taken care of so we could relax and enjoy the celebration. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how lovely the venue was! We’re so grateful for the wonderful memories made here and highly recommend the venue.The venue at Blackfriars for our wedding was an absolute dream come true. The venue is so beautiful and we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. Everything in the run up and right throughout the day went so smoothly and Sue was always around to answer any questions. We had catering from Cater Cater who were also just as amazing! Thank you!We can’t thank Sue and the team at Blackfriars enough, we had the most amazing wedding day in September. The day ran so smoothly, all the logistics were taken care of without us having to worry. We had a bagpiper in the morning and a Ceilidh in the evening which were so much fun, and again easily accommodated by the team. The venue itself is stunning and lots of our guests commented on how impressive it was. Obviously as a large and very old building it can get chilly in the Autumn/Winter, so we did prep our guests to bring layers! One perk for us was being able to set up the venue the day before. Seeing it take shape and not being rushed at all meant we could really enjoy the build up to the big day :) Thanks again Blackfriars team!We got married at Blackfriars Priory on 28/10/2023. The team are so helpful and friendly a lot of the stress in organising such an important event was taken away. Every question we had was answered quickly. We are both so happy that we made the decision to have our wedding in Blackfriars as it was everything we hoped for, and more! The team at Blackfriars were so helpful and guided us through all the planning along the way and went above and beyond when we had an issue with our caterers early in our planning. All venue visits were relaxed and they answered any questions we had. Our wedding planner even managed to arrange for a local, alcohol-free IPA to be supplied on our day for our alcohol-free guests and ensured that all the alcohol in our drinks package was vegan for us! The garden games went down so well with our guests to use in the sunny courtyard, and it was amazing to see all our family & friends having the best time. We loved all the extra touches that were provided like fairy lights, downlighters and candles and this made the venue look even more beautiful! The staff were fabulous on the day and made us feel so well looked after. All of our guests continue to comment on how beautiful and unique Blackfriars is as a venue too (which is the reason we booked it!) and how they also found all the staff so helpful on the day. We have had celebrities at the Priory but we won't name them!

What is your venue's most unique feature?
The site houses one of the oldest purpose built libraries in Europe, which is of huge historic importance as there are so few remaining.
