The Venue
Beacon House is situated just above Tankerton Beach, a stone's throw from the sea and short walk from the fashionable fishing town of Whitstable in Kent. With original arts and crafts detailing throughout, the house exudes a vintage flavour. This artists' home, with its quirky and romantic furnishings, has proved a popular location for many films and shoots, featuring in Vogue and at The National Gallery. Stretching beneath the property every low tide is the geophysical phenomenon, The Whitstable Street. This promontory, the beach and the neighbouring beach huts provide a wealth of stunning photography backdrops for your big day; whilst the huge skies, sunsets and sunrises are nothing short of spectacular.
The Ceremony
In summer, choose to take your vows either under the veranda or in the summer cabin (both locations are licensed), whilst in winter, gathering fireside in the sitting room makes for a warm and intimate affair. This beautifully unique home-from-home licensed wedding venue provides the setting for a relaxed boho ceremony for up to 60 day guests.
The Reception
Up to 80 evening guests can attend to celebrate and toast the happy couple following the nuptials ceremony; choose miniature cones filled with fish n' chips and artisan beers for a seaside-themed shindig, or perhaps a vintage-style picnic in the meadow complete with cucumber sandwiches and homemade lemonade is more your style? Whitstable is famed for its native oysters so seafood lovers can opt to create a shellfish smorgasbord fit for Neptune himself.
The Accommodation
Up to eight guests can stay inside this comfortable seaside home with a choice of four bedrooms (three doubles and one twin). All rooms share a first floor family bathroom, a downstairs Monsoon shower room, and the outdoor 'octopus shower with a view' for washing sandy toes after sunset walks across the beach on your doorstep.
