Perfect for weddings of all sizes. Ranging from intimate ceremonies of under 10 people to larger parties. The castle can seat up to 100 guests for your indoor ceremony, whether this be a blessing or civil ceremony, and your Wedding Breakfast. The Castle is fully licenced in numerous spaces, depending on your numbers, for a civil ceremony. Want a larger party? The Great Hall can facilitate up to 250 guests for your evening party and marquee options are available, with the castle as your picturesque backdrop.
The Great Hall, provides a grand setting for your ceremony and drinks receptions on those rainy days. The breath-taking Ballroom complimented by high vaulted ceilings and awe-inspiring woodwork designs are the perfect location for your Wedding Breakfast so you can dine like royalty. With 5* catering provided by Bradshaws of York included in your package price, leave the hard work to us as we dazzle you with our lifelong experience of weddings and cuisine. The gardens and grounds of the castle contribute to all your gorgeous wedding photographs and enable your guests with the perfect opportunity to take a stroll around the gardens.
Now, for your ease of planning, our packages are combined with catering, with no hidden costs, to ensure you know your budget. All packages include a cash and card, fully licenced bar.
Want an outdoor weddings? Our luxurious gardens are the dreamy location for any rustic outdoor wedding. Blessings can take place in our outdoor spaces. Bespoke quotes can be provide tailored for you.

Sophie, our Wedding Planner/Co-Ordinator was fantastic and ready to help with anything and everything on the lead up to the day. She also saved my veil when it flew off my head on the way down the aisle! Our wedding planner, Zoë, was amazing from day 1, always there if we needed her, and gave us so much support and guidance and really went above and beyond on our wedding day. The Allerton Castle selected caterers, Bradshaw's of York, gave an excellent choice of food and drinks and were prepared to cater for my gluten free guests. All of the food and drinks were brilliant and excellent quality and the service was outstanding. All of the staff on the day were extremely professional and pleasant. We stayed overnight and the bed fit for royalty within the bridal suite was extremely comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was lovely too. Ourselves and our guests were all stunned with the beauty and detail of the building both inside and out, it really has a wow factor! I really could not recommend Allerton Castle enough for people who are considering it for their wedding venue. As we drove up the long drive with sheep grazing either side the stunning building came into sight and literally took our breath away with its grandeur. When we entered Allerton Castle a few stairs led us up to the Great Hall, which is absolutely stunning, with its carved panelled walls and the most grandest staircase sweeping down from the galleried landing. Light flooded in from the high stained glass picture window below the vaulted ceiling. It was overwhelming as we were shown around and each room gave us more goosebumps and wows! We were delighted when our son and daughter in law decided to have their wedding at Allerton Castle and booked it even though they hadn't seen it in person. They were also overwhelmed and delighted when they eventually got to see it in person 4 months later. Zoe, the Events and Wedding Co-Ordinator was amazing as she was super efficient and so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she certainly made the wishes of the Happy Couple come true. The wedding was so beautiful and just like from a Fairytale. Right from our first meeting our wedding co-ordinator Libby, and the castle itself, set the bench mark for all the other venues we viewed, and none could compete. The big day itself was fabulous, whatever the weather Allerton Castle looks amazing, and it provided a stunning back drop to an unforgettable day. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
There's too many to choose from...we have had some amazing fairy-tale weddings, complete with princess ball gowns and entrances to 'Tale as Old as Time,' Harry Potter Weddings, DIY weddings, goth weddings and unique weddings of just the couple! Each wedding brings something new to the castle, always leaving us in 'wow' of what a couple has created.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ask all the questions! Never dismiss anything right away just because we are grade 1 listed, we will always try to accommodate the requests we receive the best we can to ensure your dream wedding comes true.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Cricket bat confetti tunnel for cricket mad Groom and name cards which have little wildlife charity pins attached to. So all guests had a pin and donation on their behalf!

Three Little Pigs Chorizo Fritata - an amazing bite!

Lots of cheese! The cheese boards are a must!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The iconic staircase in the gothic Great Hall which also features as the bridal entrance, leaving your guests well and truly wow-ed!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are charity ran business therefore able to create a relationship with couples and be flexible, not focusing on money or targets. This also means any money raised goes into the historical preservation and restoration of Allerton Castle.
