The Manor House at Thornton Manor Country Estate has played host to some of the finest celebrations over the years, and it isn't hard to see why! Within the house there are currently two fabulous locations where we can stage your ceremony, our Music Room or Entrance Hall. Should you prefer an outdoor setting for your ceremony, we are able to offer a vast array of locations within our exquisite gardens (weather permitting). Our stunning Music Room is adorned with spectacular wall panelling, elaborate plaster work, period paintings and character a plenty; our beautiful house and extensive grounds will simply take your breath away.
Whether you are looking for an intimate affair, a lavish multi-day country house extravaganza, or anything in between - we have all you need to make your wedding day dreams come true. Our ethereal and romantic Music Room boasts a capacity of up to 250 seated guests for your wedding breakfast, this is offered alongside our Entrance Hall and an oasis of beautifully presented English countryside - all included in your exclusive use venue hire.
Thornton Manor truly becomes your home away from home for you and your guests on your special day, steeped in history and charm, you will be transported back in time for the fairy-tale wedding of your dreams! Thornton Manor is not only an iconic exclusive use Cheshire wedding venue, but is also home to a team of dedicated event professionals who are here to support you through every step of your planning journey. With the exception of food and drink, you are free to choose your own suppliers in order to make your day truly your own, although we do of course have a list of trusted suppliers who we are happy to recommend to you if you aren’t quite sure where to start.

All the staff at Thornton manor are amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble, they go above and beyond with everything. All the staff were professional, friendly, helpful and efficient. The staff were so incredibly kind, friendly and supportive from our first meeting to the final ta-ra’s the day following the wedding. They were so organised and nothing was too much to ask for. They put both myself and my husband at ease on the day, and it felt like having friends with us throughout.From our initial viewing of the venue we knew this was the one for us. The team were great from start to finish, and were very accommodating when having to postpone due to covid. We received so many compliments from guests on the venue, and the Christmas decorations made it very magical. We hired out quite a few of the cottages on site and these surpassed expectations, with many of our guests saying that they were pleasantly surprised...We had our wedding at Thornton Manor, Manor House on the 27th November and it was amazing. Beautiful music room which is a perfect ceremony or wedding breakfast room. The wedding organisers know their stuff and help you to organise your day to exactly what you want and ensure it goes off without a hitch. Fabulous cottages available for guests to hire, i stayed the night before with bridesmaids, and the lodge we had was immaculate. Would highly highly recommend the venue...We married here in march 2019 and can't rate the staff or the venue highly enough. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We had a wedding of around 40 guests where they had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony followed by drinks and canapes on the lawn. They had organised for a wedding themed crazy golf supplier to entertain the guests and this went down incredibly well. They chose one large table in the centre of the room with no expense spared on venue decor with beautiful flower installations and candlelight. They had a string quartet during the meal and opted for a delicious 4 course meal followed by a cocktail hour as their evening guests arrived via a red carpet entrance. In the evening they had a DJ with sax and bongos to fill the dance floor and a stunning firework display with sparklers as a fantastic surprise towards the end of the evening. A charcuterie board along sidfe their wedding cake was chosen for a late night snack and guests grazed on this all evening. It was a lovely day filled with fun and laughter, as a venue we couldn't ask for a better group of people and to witness such a wonderful couple tie the knot.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Be creative and remember it is YOUR special day, trust your gut and most importantly... remember to have fun.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
My favourite personal touch would have to be couples that utilised polaroid photos as place names - it was so lovely watching all of the guests enter the room and not only be taken aback by the room itself, but also reach their table to find photos of themselves with memories of past times and often in funny poses. It was a great atmosphere in the room and a fantastic ice-breaker for tables where guests hadn't met. Laughter was in abundance and every guest took these home with them meaning they acted as a fantastic favour too.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In the Manor House and gardens there are many spots for a great photo, however lots of our couples love to hire our vintage boat on the lake for a one-of-a-kind wedding shot in the summer months.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We certainly have however we are unable to disclose names due to non-disclosure agreements.
What’s your favourite canapé?
I personally have always loved smoked pancetta and parmesan bechamel croquettes - a firm favourite with most guests too.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Charcuterie boards are my absolute favourite for a late night nibble.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our iconic organ with feature fireplace is absolutely our most unique feature - the perfect backdrop for your top table.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our dedicated and passionate team - each and every one of us truly care about the intricacies of your special day and love hearing all of your ideas and helping them come to life. It isn't a sales pitch, we just love what we do and having the opportunity to share in such a momentous occasion with you.
