Megan, Zoe and Hilary went out of their way to do absolutely everything they could to make sure everything ran smoothly! They took care of everything for us. - NNorma O10/07/2025Nothing too much trouble 🏨Nothing too much trouble 🏨We have just had the best weekend staying at the Grand Hotel for a family / friends wedding. Wedding was on Saturday when the sun shone again, meal, service, everything was exceptional. Staff are just so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We were booked in for two nights but decided to stay an extra night, rooms were switched around so that we didn't have to change, we were in the same room for the three nights. Hotel is spotless, highly recommend a stay there, beautiful hotel.We have just had the best weekend staying at the Grand Hotel for a family / friends wedding. I never felt rushed and was able to sit and mingle with my guests on arrival until we were ready to get pictures taken. The Champagne reception was fabulous and the guest were delighted!! The atmosphere was perfect from the outset. My family and friends still to this day complement the meal as being the best wedding food they have had.The Hotel really exceeded our expectations on the day and made everything run smoothly even dealing with the fact we arrived forty minutes later then planned. I never felt rushed and was able to sit and mingle with my guests on arrival until we were ready to get pictures taken. The Champagne reception was fabulous and the guest were delighted!! The Hotel did a brilliant job, in helping us feel welcome and special on our big day. They really made an effort to fuss over us and made sure everything was perfect. The Grand are experts in weddings and have being doing this for a long time and I imagine they will be the Rolls Royce venue of choice for weddings for a long time into the future. The venue itself is breathtaking over looking the water.We had our Wedding in Grand Hotel on the 26th of July 2013. The Hotel did a brilliant job, in helping us feel welcome and special on our big day. They really made an effort to fuss over us and made sure everything was perfect. He was at the end of the phone and when planning a wedding this support is invaluable....nothing was an issue. Recently we got married in The Grand Hotel. What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Planning your wedding should be as enjoyable as your wedding day. Enjoy that time making decisions together and building up the excitement. Make a date night out of looking at wedding brochures, make a day of going to get your rings together, get dressed up and make a date night out of your menu tasting! Start seeing the wedding planning as a way of spending time together rather than 'tasks'. It makes all the difference. You get to create loads of memories to look back on of this exciting time in your life and it takes away some of the stress!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We love the 'Reserved' seats at the ceremony for family that have passed. It is a lovely way to honour a late family member on your special day.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
On the garden lawn overlooking the water. Its beautiful for those family pictures after the ceremony!

The wedding team created the canapé menu with our head chef so we can safely say we love them all!
