Description

The Celebration Pavilion can accommodate a maximum of 100 people for a ceremony, 48 for a seated reception or 65 for a standing cocktail reception. The back walls of the Pavilion open up to a beautiful patio & garden area, creating an enchanting ceremony backdrop. This unique garden setting is wheelchair accessible. The venue features radiant heated floors for events taking place in cooler seasons. Near the venue, you will find a private washroom for guests and a wedding suite, for those last-minute touch-ups. Pay parking is available throughout the park and is operated by EasyPark.

The rental rates for the Celebration Pavilion differ depending on whether you are holding your wedding ceremony on a weekday or weekend. Weekend rates apply for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Stat Holidays.

As the logistics of a reception (this includes any event serving food and/or beverage) are much more complex than a ceremony only booking, may we please schedule a phone call to discuss in more detail? The rentals office hours are Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm.

Included in your rental is 2 hours of exclusive use of the venue, the services of a liaison staff member, the use of 80 silver chiavari chairs in a standard lecture style setup, a signing table with linen, a sound system with aux input, a handheld or lapel microphone(s), your choice of either a red or black carpeted aisle runner and silk floral decors of either blush/lavender/white or red/green.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

Do we have to provide liability insurance?

Insurance - Liability insurance is required for all events. A liability insurance certificate is required for all events 3 weeks (15 business days) before the event date. The renter must abide by all laws and regulations applicable to the holding of the function and will obtain $2 million ($5 million if this is a reception event serving alcohol) of insurance to indemnify and save harmless the City of Vancouver, as represented by its Board of Parks & Recreation, from any claims or charges arising from the renter's use of the facility.

Can we have a ceremonial flame for the ceremony?

Ceremonial Flame - This is approved for ceremonial/religious purposes only. Fire must be contained and you must have a fire extinguisher on hand near by.

Can we serve food and/or beverages at our wedding?

Food and/or Beverage - Food and/or beverage are not permitted on premise or near the facility, unless booked as a reception booking. Bottled water is acceptable, provided all bottles are disposed of in recycling bins or removed from the premises prior to the conclusion of the event. It is also strictly prohibited to store food or beverages inside the facility for later use elsewhere.

Can we bring in additional decor items?

Renters are required to provide the Facility Rentals department with a comprehensive list of all items intended for use in advance of the event date for formal approval. The items and activities listed below are strictly prohibited within or immediately outside the facility due to potential harm to the environment, animals, and plants.

  • Ignitable/Aerosol/Lighting Devices: Candles, fireworks, sparklers, SPFX (special effects), mist, fog, or foam machines.
  • Debris-Generating Materials: Confetti, glitter, rice, bubbles, balloons, and freeze dried or artificial floral petals. If floral petals are used, it is the Renters responsibility to clean them before the end of the booked rental time.
  • Décor Installation: All décor must be freestanding. Items may not be affixed to vegetation or structures, nor staked into the floral beds.
  • Structures: Arches and chuppahs are permitted on site, and can be placed on the stage area, as the space can accommodate one that is 4’ x 6’ if needed.

May we use drones to capture moments at our wedding?

Use of Drones (UAV’s) - The use of drones (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAV’s) for photography or videography is strictly prohibited anywhere within or surrounding City of Vancouver Parks premises, including the Bloedel Conservatory grounds. This policy is enforced to prevent disturbance or potential harm to the avian residents and park environment. Renters are responsible for ensuring that all photographers and videographers are aware of and comply with this regulation prior to the event date.
