The Celebration Pavilion can accommodate a maximum of 100 people for a ceremony, 48 for a seated reception or 65 for a standing cocktail reception. The back walls of the Pavilion open up to a beautiful patio & garden area, creating an enchanting ceremony backdrop. This unique garden setting is wheelchair accessible. The venue features radiant heated floors for events taking place in cooler seasons. Near the venue, you will find a private washroom for guests and a wedding suite, for those last-minute touch-ups. Pay parking is available throughout the park and is operated by EasyPark.
The rental rates for the Celebration Pavilion differ depending on whether you are holding your wedding ceremony on a weekday or weekend. Weekend rates apply for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Stat Holidays.
As the logistics of a reception (this includes any event serving food and/or beverage) are much more complex than a ceremony only booking, may we please schedule a phone call to discuss in more detail? The rentals office hours are Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4pm.
Included in your rental is 2 hours of exclusive use of the venue, the services of a liaison staff member, the use of 80 silver chiavari chairs in a standard lecture style setup, a signing table with linen, a sound system with aux input, a handheld or lapel microphone(s), your choice of either a red or black carpeted aisle runner and silk floral decors of either blush/lavender/white or red/green.
Insurance - Liability insurance is required for all events. A liability insurance certificate is required for all events 3 weeks (15 business days) before the event date. The renter must abide by all laws and regulations applicable to the holding of the function and will obtain $2 million ($5 million if this is a reception event serving alcohol) of insurance to indemnify and save harmless the City of Vancouver, as represented by its Board of Parks & Recreation, from any claims or charges arising from the renter's use of the facility.
Ceremonial Flame - This is approved for ceremonial/religious purposes only. Fire must be contained and you must have a fire extinguisher on hand near by.
Food and/or Beverage - Food and/or beverage are not permitted on premise or near the facility, unless booked as a reception booking. Bottled water is acceptable, provided all bottles are disposed of in recycling bins or removed from the premises prior to the conclusion of the event. It is also strictly prohibited to store food or beverages inside the facility for later use elsewhere.
Renters are required to provide the Facility Rentals department with a comprehensive list of all items intended for use in advance of the event date for formal approval. The items and activities listed below are strictly prohibited within or immediately outside the facility due to potential harm to the environment, animals, and plants.
Use of Drones (UAV’s) - The use of drones (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAV’s) for photography or videography is strictly prohibited anywhere within or surrounding City of Vancouver Parks premises, including the Bloedel Conservatory grounds. This policy is enforced to prevent disturbance or potential harm to the avian residents and park environment. Renters are responsible for ensuring that all photographers and videographers are aware of and comply with this regulation prior to the event date.
Animals/Pets Policy - Pets are not permitted within the facility. Certified working guide and service dogs are welcome.
Upon approval - can only be parked in the upper parking lot and they must have a sign that they are only there for a special event - no public orders permitted.
Smoking / Vaping - is not permitted inside or in the Park itself. For anyone who wishes to smoke or vape, they must go off property to Cambie Street or 33rd Avenue.
Parking - Pay parking is available near the facility at the upper and lower parking lots of Queen Elizabeth Park (Lot 67). Parking is run by a separate entity – EasyPark. All parking is available on a first come first serve basis.
